Unfortunately I also don't feel like me with things as they are, so it's even more important for people to see me right, and the people I care about don't, and I don't know if they ever will. :/

As long as I stay active, I seem to quickly discard what I gain back, but I don't know. I don't have access to a cross trainer, but I do have a normal stationary bike, and I do walk when I can (can't do it enough though, cos I've got a bad knee). I guess the part that's most discouraging is that, while the weight loss itself is important, it's not my biggest goal, and it may not help much with what I want it to AND feels like it's taking forever. I know I shoulda started trying to make things right years ago, but I didn't and now it's harder than it should be and ugh. I have so many problems with my body. I just hate it. It's like it does everything possible to contradict my mind in everything. And I don't even know if what I'm doing will fix any of it.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how frustrating that must be... as if you need anything else to worry about. I don't think these people seem to realise that they could be relieving a LOT of pain just by doing one simple thing: accepting. That's all. I guess it takes a lot of time for some people to realise they're wrong.

I used a bike quite a lot at the gym, it's also very effective.

I'm really sorry about this Julius... I hope you can find some sort of help from somewhere, and just take baby steps toward your goal. Like I said, there really is no big rush. And I don't think you have to justify anything, be it through appearance or whatever, to prove that you are who you are. But I know you know better than I when it comes to this. Best of luck either way.

It's not that people aren't accepting, it's just... they're too used to what's wrong, and it shows. I know they're trying, but it just kinda feels demeaning.

I know what I have to do to be comfortable, and hopefully people will get used to it by then, but I'm gonna need a lot of money, after losing the weight, and it feels like years since my job interview already. I've felt wrong for so many years and it just kinda feels like this is gonna be damn near permanent. :/

I think it's still early days for the entirety of LGBT+. I was reading prior conversations on this thread about gay and lesbian characters never having any sort of relief in fictional media, like happy endings etc. Progress is definitely slow for our group. It can be agonizing at times. I'm just hoping that even if it is slow, it's steady, and we're moving forward instead of back.

I know what you mean about it being demeaning. There's times when I think people are trying almost too hard when they want to be supportive, to the point where it doesn't even feel like I'm a normal person. I'm just my sexuality. It's so strange, but it's so hard describing what to do or how to act to people who have never had to question who they are. It is a whole other world to them. :?

I never had much trouble with people I care about in regards to sexuality. I was lucky enough to be accepted very easily by most of them. The only issue I'm having with other people now is they keep forgetting I'm not a freaking girl. To be honest I've never been one to get down about strangers or society having a problem with me. I do get pretty angry about it sometimes, but that's it. I know society will progress slowly and I can deal with that.

But I'm not a girl ...it's like I'm someone else in my mind than I am in reality, though, cos my body and the people around me seem to disagree. And there's so little I can do about it.

People who make you feel bad for complaining and being disappointed by saying stuff like "Oh well it could be worse, I'm sure that homeless guy who is wandering where his next bit of food will come from is very upset about your first world problems."
For one, that has nothing to do with what we are talking about. And for two, tell yourself that whenever anything bad happens in your life. Family member dies? Ah well it could be worse, you're not allowed to be upset about anything because apparently you aren't allowed to be upset about anything unless you're a starving African child looking after their sick family.

I realise that people have it worse than me but that doesn't mean I don't get to express my feelings and emotions. In fact keeping them locked up on the basis that "it could be worse" is actually, according to research, bad for your health. So get off your high horse and let people complain and whine if they want to about life or whatever company has upset them this week with a bad decision because as soon as it's something YOU care about, you'll be on the other end and have people saying the same crap to you as well.

It's funny because people like that just sound ridiculously insecure and have completely unhealthy attitudes when it comes to their problems. Voicing problems =/= whining.
