I was never really into Dragon Ball overall to be honest. But I remember GT the most and maybe my favourite, so maybe that's why I don't understand the hate it gets

Dragon Ball was like literally the best. Kid Goku and amazing humor. GT had the Kid Goku, but the humor wasn't quite the same.
