You know the feeling when you want to cry but you can't because you want to stay strong?

On top of my life going nowhere i've been having all sorts of medical issues.... All this news of death and destruction, people arguing politics, etc it just makes me feel so hopeless.

I know what you mean. Tbh, I avoid the news, and try to stay away from politics, simply because I already have too much to deal with as is. The past few nights I've felt like what you describe, except it's more like I can't cry because I'm too strong by default currently than because of a want to stay strong. It used to be super rare for me to cry, then it was common, now it's way rare again. All the same, I know what you mean and I really hope you feel better soon.

I do, and to be completely honest, you should try to let it go if you can.

I used to have this weird internal obsession with being strong and not showing any weakness, and at the end of the day I think it simply exacerbated the emotions I was feeling because I felt that I had to deal with all my problems by myself. The fact that I never really reached out to anyone is something I regret.

Sometimes we have problems that we can't face alone. It's okay to cry and it's okay to reach out for help if you need it. There's nothing wrong with that. /3
