Oh, I see. Here, our school libraries are always opened and students can pay it a visit at any time. It's interesting to know it didn't work the same way, in your school.

Well you couldn't just leave in the middle of class to go somewhere. :?

The only times that weren't class were lunch and study hall.

Oh, you had no breaks? :? Excluding in college, our schools have breaks of 10-20 minutes between classes. This, excluding lunch or times in which the teacher couldn't come.

We had 5 minutes to get from one class to the other. If the teacher couldn't come, there was a substitute teacher. If we attended school, we were in class all day long, pretty much. :P

Gosh, that sounds...like a lot of work. They sound pretty much like colleges, in the end, though. :P

Well... the difference is in college there was actually a point in trying to pay attention. I spent all of my classes in those earlier schools reading, drawing, or writing stories because I already knew what they were teaching us. I never needed to listen in class, I never had to try and I never bothered to learn how to study.

I made the best grades in my class all the time. My teachers would tell future teachers about me, because I was smart and quiet... such a good kid, they said. They were apparently unaware that I thought they were all stupid and wasting my time.

I once rode in a limo to a fancy dinner in my (and like 5 other kids') honor because I was in the top 10 percent in my entire school. But I never worked for it and considered all of my peers to be stupid and not worth interacting with just because they were trying and they weren't doing half as good as I was.

Yeah. I was that kid.

Most of the other kids hated me for it. I didn't care because they were stupid. In middle school some of them decided to bully me (although it was very mild because they weren't even good at that). That only further lowered my opinion of them.

I was pretty much the same, although I did study a bit. :P
The only thing I had to work for was Math, because, honestly, most of my Math teachers were awful. One of them thought it'd be smart to put students learning Math on computers, aka, she didn't teach anything nor did the students actually learn something. In the end, I had to learn nearly everything of that subject by myself, at home. This didn't happen with most of the other subjects, though.

But, yeah, imnw is right. That's exactly what my mom used to say to me, as well...they were jealous and couldn't deal with the fact you were smarter than them! ;)
