Ah I remember study period... about 20 people in a classroom napping or doodling for an hour.

I never had many of those periods...thankfully.

Also, as I'm a boarder I can go back to bed

We just had to sit at tables. Talking was forbidden usually, but even so, no one studied or did their homework.

That's how it is for the day students

And that's exactly why I'm glad I rarely had study periods. Many schools here don't believe it is useful, because, uh...most of the time, it isn't.

I loved that hour. It let me read and draw in peace.

Serious? Didn't your school have a library, where you could do that?

[Carl]

We couldn't just randomly go there. We only had like, one library day every couple of weeks, or we had to go in lunch/study hall. That was way too little reading time for my liking. I spent any free moment in class every day reading.

In fact, in middle school, I volunteered to sit outside the principal's office any time the class went outside to play sports or what have you (someone had to, in case the principal needed to get hold of the teacher) just so I could read more.
