Sukhois are great in dogfights. But their avionics are rivaled by your pocket calculator. Have fun hitting anything you can't see in one of those.
American planes are built to be able to dogfight, should missiles fail. Russian planes are made purely to dogfight, because Russians don't trust the missiles. That dogma is as outdated as the one that claimed that missiles will replace dog fighting altogether. So in a close up fight, the Russians might win. But how many will they lose getting to this close up fight?

Then you are looking at them wrong. Besides, Russian Planes are even worse. What do you expect out of a compromise? (Most if not all Russian Planes are fighter-bombers)
