For me it is doing something that I would benefit from.

Some people can actually benefit from playing video-games, because, tbh, some are educative. That's why it's subjective, IMO.

Not only that, but it's proven that shooters can improve hand eye coordination, among other things.

But on a more serious note-I prefer things with more tangible results such as learning a language, improving fitness or prepping for exams.

I am right now! The point I was making was that I have to do things like that and i cant stand just sitting around doing nothing.

And how'ddya exercise whilst gaming?

Well, I can't play keyboard and mouse so I have a controller. I can easily use exercise cycles or do other leg exercise while gaming, and let my arms catch up when I'm doing something else.
