Yea, she used to ride at the same stables as me, so she knows the horses pretty well.

The main thing that annoys me is she's always saying how she'd never buy a horse from a dealer or an auction, because they're "rubbish"

Umm, excuse me? One of my favourite horses was from a auction, he's got such a lovely personality.
And what?! They're ALIVE! It's not like she's buying an inanimate object.

It's not where you get the horse from, it's how YOU train it.

If she can't ride horses from dealers/auctions, then obviously she's not a very good rider.

I'mnot saying I'm the best, but I'm willing to get to know each horse personally and get to know what it likes/dislikes...not just who's trained it and where's it's from.

Oh dear. I'm so sorry, my condolences to your family Annie. I don't know you very well, although I've seen you around on TLKFAA and on here but I really am sorry to hear about your counsin's child.

I'm glad that Annie is alright. That is some good news. I know what it is like to worry about your pet, especially when they are very much part of the family. So it's good to hear that.

As for your friend...I don't have much experience with friends but perhaps she's just being immature and insensitive. Perhaps you could discuss things with her if she is that sort?

She's such a lovely, funny person to be around the rest of the time and when she's home from Uni we go on awesome rides and have movies nights and stuff...but it's just those remarks she makes >.<

I hate insensitive people like this. They have absolutely no respect for animals whatsoever and treat them like mere possessions and not living, breathing creatures with feelings. Unfortunately, there is no changing these types of people. I would suggest either talking to her about it or if this continues, breaking ties with her completely. =\

as to this "friend" she sounds like the type that always has to have something better than everyone else she knows and sounds extremely insensitive. now I'm generally a peaceful person, but I would've pretty much just went off on her and walked off.

but since she has her better moments, perhaps a less aggressive confrontation telling her how the things she says sometimes makes you feel. it probably won't change her opinion, but at least it might prevent her from saying something insensitive to you.
