^ because they like to think they're smarter than they actually are. Calculus itself isn't hard. It's just overcomplicated, because most people believe that an AP class (or any high-level class) should be difficult.

Try www.khanacademy.org. Sal is good at explaining things in simple terms.

Also, I have no idea what an AP class is. Blame different scholar system. XP

Yes, the basics of calculus are easy. All you need to know is that a derivative is the slope, and an integral is the area under a curve. It does get more complicated than that, but it's unnecessary complication. The most difficult part of calculus isn't the calculus itself, but the algebra and trig.
