Well considering that the the space we can see is only a tiny fraction of what exists, there's not really much way for there not to be. But aliens existing doesn't mean they are intelligent or that they live close enough to ever be seen by us. Any possible life out there would have just as much trouble finding us and we have finding it.

Conclusion: Yes there are aliens, no they probably haven't been to earth and they're not likely to be any time this century.
