I see so many people saying "I feel British" or "I feel American" and it makes me think that these answers are a result of people interpreting their behaviours in the context of stereotypes. For example "I feel Spanish. I need a siesta." or "I feel British *drinks tea*." Not every Spaniard takes an afternoon siesta and not every British individual drinks tea.
What I'm trying to say is that there are typically too many different people with different identities and different behaviours and traits to have a single overarching culture that defines a single nation. Ergo, to say you feel British simply because you are drinking tea would be stereotypical.
