Wow I was at Disney that day :O
But I think that I wasn't in the studios.
Anyways, that didn't look pretty good, I mean, the guy in the suit should've only ignored him but not pushed him :x
I think they should've fired that guy :grr6:

EDIT: now that i think bout it again you guyus are right, the parents should've kept their child with them, not just let him do anything he wants :/

well, I can't see the video at the moment because the school blocks YouTube...and I don't want to use a proxy.

but you should definitely have enough sense to keep your child close in a crowded theme park, if nothing else but to avoid abduction. and it was in the child's best interest to stay out of the street and avoid becoming squished by parade floats, so the parents should really have been holding his hand or at least have him close enough to grab him if he were to suddenly dash out. that's just for any kid, if a kid is special needs they should absolutely have been far more alert. my parents didn't let me just run off away from them in Disneyworld, or really let me out of their sight.....not even when I was 16 lol.

as to the Disney dude, it wasn't wise to get rough with a kid. but you do have to consider that with the millions of kids that go to Disneyworld, there are those that aren't the most behaved and would possibly try to run out in the road and refuse to get back into the crowd, possibly even try to punch and or kick the employee (don't think it can't happen, my little cousin socked his aunt's 30 something boyfriend in the gutt pretty good once for trying to take away an arrow he was dangerously weilding). however, he should've simply assumed any kid as simply unaware and more gently and kindly tried to get them back into the crowd, only getting little rough if they actually tried to put up a fight.

so that's my view until I can see the video...

I think the guy was actually fired, as said by someone on his channel, which is a shame because if the parents had been keeping a closer eye on their cub he wouldn't have had to be fired :headache: In my opinion I think he should have kept his job, he was only acting in self defence because the cub looked like he was going to attack Old Maul.

this is your typical sympathy rubbish :ehh: notice the constant use of the word "little" to evke sympathy, and the constant mention of the kids disablities. Think logically..what has his disablities got to do with some guy pushing him away? When you look at it without the influence of the carefully chosen words, its nothing bad, the kid shouldn't have been running around like that anyway. I feel more sorry for Mr. Maul, he msut feel like an idiot dressing like that for a living, he doesn't need hyperactive kiddies stripping him of more dignity

Hmm... well after watching this vid I have to agree with the rest of you peeps. Obviously it wasn't the kid's fault since he didn't know what he was doing was wrong. It was sorta the Disney employee's fault for pushing him away when it was obvious that "Joe" was only trying to highfive him (it would have been something else if he was actually trying to cause him harm). But most of all it was the parents' fault for not keeping their autistic child under control. They should have known something like this would happened. >.>
This would be like saying "My kid was bitten by a lion when he climbed into the cage and tried to pet it." Well what the hell was the kid doing in that cage anyway? Shouldn't the parents tried to stop him? It's highly retarded.
Plus SF is right, this sympathy crap is unecessary and stupid. All it does is dramatize what happened when it's really not that big of a deal. As for little Joe "suffering nightmares and taking medications as a result of this incident," well I highly doubt that. :ehh:

Indeed, those parents had failed to follow the rules, written or unwritten, everybody knows you're not supposed to walk through a performance whatever it is. Ofcourse that employee shouldn't have handled the boy the way he did. And as sensitive as Classic-Autism sufferers may be, structure is needed at all time!! All the kid wanted is to have a fun-day, and share the fun with employees aswell. I think a kid like that with Autism amongst such a noisy crowd or happening is top-notch! But the parents should have intervened on the kids behalf earlier on, like some have mentioned before.. I fully agree with that aswell. Like I told TG on MSN/WLM, it would have been better for the boy to be adressed for it by his parents whom he knows well, and knows what to expect from them from earlier experiences with them, then an employee lashing out like that.

Even pushing aside wasn't exactly needed in my opinion. He could have answered that high-five, and gently turned the boy around, and guided him back to his parents to adress them on their fail to observe the rules active during the parade: Do not interfere by blocking the road..
That would have sufficed, and accepted by all without bad feelings I think. Besides, to me it was clear to see that this young boy was handicapped by the way he moves. I don't doubt that this employee had the chance to observe this in a way, also recognizing it as a result whilst still having time to plan something to act appropriatly.

Some kids may be annoying, but most of the time it truly are the parents/familymembers/etc. to blame. They are responsible for their young ones in the first place... I wonder how much salary was discredited from the employee, if it wasn't a voluntarily job done... He sure should have felt that in his wallet for good measure in my opinion! He may have felt bad afterwards, and it can be tracable who performed as Darth Maul that day, if the employee is a regular weekend-service member. But Disney has no right to keep those who break the rules in their employers contract!

This Maul has gone faul, I'd say he'd pay where it hurts most, in the wallet for a good show! or alternatively forced behaviour tutorials regarding "special need persons" for that Mauly! It is clear that this man had a lack of education for unleashing his personal life's bad day on the hapless kid..

hmm, not sure if it was a high five, looked more like an attack by the kid. Sort of like slapping at Maul for being the "bad guy"

I remember once, a "Special" man came over to pet my dog. I was a bit dubious, but I let him anyway and I held Annies head (Just incase...she'd bite me instead of him)
All was going ok untill ... *Pat...pat...pat...SLAP* He hit Annie as hard as he could, she yelped and jumped forwards, just intime for the mans carers to see. I was the one who got in trouble, for letting him pat my dog in the first place, they were saying how Annie could have bitten him!
In all fairness, she could have done, if she'd broken away from me first...but they should have kept a better eye on him.

Soo, I really think Maul over reacted, he could have asked the kid to go back to the crowd, or even moved him away without the force...but where were the kids parents/carers? They should keep a better eye on him. I'm not mentally disabled, but at that age, my parents wouldn't have let me do anything like that!
