When Felix Agnus put up the life-sized shrouded bronze statue of a grieving angel, seated on a pedestal, in the Agnus family plot in the Druid Ridge Cemetery, he had no idea what he had started. The statue was a rather eerie figure by day, frozen in a moment of grief and terrible pain. At night, the figure was almost unbelievably creepy; the shroud over its head obscuring the face until you were up close to it. There was a living air about the grieving angel, as if its arms could really reach out and grab you if you weren't careful.
It didn't take long for rumors to sweep through the town and surrounding countryside. They said that the statue - nicknamed Black Aggie - was haunted by the spirit of a mistreated wife who lay beneath her feet. The statue's eyes would glow red at the stroke of midnight, and any living person who returned the statues gaze would instantly be struck blind. Any pregnant woman who passed through her shadow would miscarry. If you sat on her lap at night, the statue would come to life and crush you to death in her dark embrace. If you spoke Black Aggie's name three times at midnight in front of a dark mirror, the evil angel would appear and pull you down to hell. They also said that spirits of the dead would rise from their graves on dark nights to gather around the statue at night.
People began visiting the cemetery just to see the statue, and it was then that the local fraternity decided to make the statue of Grief part of their initiation rites. "Black Aggie" sitting, where candidates for membership had to spend the night crouched beneath the statue with their backs to the grave of General Agnus, became popular.
One dark night, two fraternity members accompanied new hopeful to the cemetery and watched while he took his place underneath the creepy statue. The clouds had obscured the moon that night, and the whole area surrounding the dark statue was filled with a sense of anger and malice. It felt as if a storm were brewing in that part of the cemetery, and to their chagrin, the two fraternity members noticed that gray shadows seemed to be clustering around the body of the frightened fraternity candidate crouching in front of the statue.
What had been a funny initiation rite suddenly took on an air of danger. One of the fraternity brothers stepped forward in alarm to call out to the initiate. As he did, the statue above the boy stirred ominously. The two fraternity brothers froze in shock as the shrouded head turned toward the new candidate. They saw the gleam of glowing red eyes beneath the concealing hood as the statue's arms reached out toward the cowering boy.
With shouts of alarm, the fraternity brothers leapt forward to rescue the new initiate. But it was too late. The initiate gave one horrified yell, and then his body disappeared into the embrace of the dark angel. The fraternity brothers skidded to a halt as the statue thoughtfully rested its glowing eyes upon them. With gasps of terror, the boys fled from the cemetery before the statue could grab them too.
Hearing the screams, a night watchman hurried to the Agnus plot. To his chagrin, he discovered the body of a young man lying at the foot of the statue. The young man had apparently died of fright.
The disruption caused by the statue grew so acute that the Agnus family finally donated it to the Smithsonian museum in Washington D.C.. The grieving angel sat for many years in storage there, never again to plague the citizens visiting the Druid Hill Park Cemetery.
I remember that dog one too! Yuch, I wonder if it's true?
I have a scary myth, ever since I heard about I've been a little paranoid about being on my own with a mirror =L

If you turn the light off in your bathroom at midnight, and keep a large mirror in there, you can make a ghost appear. Say "Bloody Mary" twelve times and look in the mirror. I havn't tried this, and I never will, but apparently a woman wearing a black cloak appears in the mirror!!! :disgust: And she'll either scare you, scream, give you a gift or kill you...
It's probably not true, but you can never be too sure
:ehh2:
There's another version of this :disgust:

Urban Legend: Chanting "Bloody Mary!" thirteen times in front of a candlelit mirror in an otherwise dark room will summon her vengeful spirit.

The Story: Go into a room with a mirror and turn all the lights off. Bathrooms seem to be perfect for this since they almost always have a mirror and are usually dark at night with the lights off and the door closed. Light a candle, look into the mirror, start chanting "Bloody Mary" . You have to do this 13 times, of course. You should see Bloody Mary behind your left shoulder after the thirteenth time.

Beware, she has been reported to 1.) Kill the person calling her, 2.) Scratch their eyes out, 3.) Drive the person mad or 4.) pull the person into the mirror with her. This is an old legend, it has been around for ages. A folklorist, Janet Langlois, published an essay on the legend back in 1978. At that time, the legend was wide spread across the USA and a popular slumber party ritual done by girls as well as boys. No one knows the true origins of the Bloody Mary tale, she's been known to be anything from a witch that was killed for practicing witchcraft to a modern day woman killed in a car crash, depending on what part of the country you live in. It was made popular again in the film Urban Legends in 1999.

The Long Distance Phone Call

Urban Legend: An elderly woman, bed-ridden after her husbands death, receives strange phone calls that turn out to be from the dead husband.

The Story:
An elderly woman receives a phone call on a dark, stormy night. She hears a moaning on the other end and a voice that sounds like her recently diseased husband. The calls torment her all night. The next day, she asks her driver to take her past the cemetery where her husband was laid to rest. They discover that during the storm, a phone line had fallen down ...........and was laying on her dead husbands grave! Were the phone calls she had received the night before made from beyond the grave by her dead husband? Another variation of this has the woman dying from shock in her bed after answering the phone call. Then, when she is being taken to the cemetery it is discovered that the phone line is laying on her husbands grave.

Origins:
This legend has been told as having happened in various parts of the United States but no true origins can be found. A version of this legend showed up as an episode of the Twilight Zone on February 7th,1964, called "Night Call."

Urban Legend: The protective ghosts of little children killed at a railway crossing push stalled cars off the tracks.

The Story:
This one is actually true. It's been talked about on many TV stations including an Los Angeles, California station by "The Earth Man" Garcia. It has to do with a school bus full of children that had stalled on some train tracks in San Antonio, Texas. A train was coming and was going too fast to stop in time to get the bus off the tracks. The bus was hit and all of the children died. It was a great tragedy. The tracks are located on a curve in the road but the tracks are on a small up-hill grade to both sides.

If you stop your car just on the tracks and put it in neutral, it will slowly start to roll over the little hill and down the other side.

A local Los Angeles, California station sent a crew there to check it out and it was done on tape, with a San Antonio sheriff present. The cars back end was cleaned off of any finger prints before the test was done and after it was done it was dusted for prints. Several small hand prints and finger prints showed up on the bumper, showing that the small hands of the ghost children were pushing the car to get it off the tracks.

There are also claims that this is nothing more than a gravity anomaly allowing a non-moving vehicle to move over a small up-grade. But no one can explain away the hand and finger prints.

Origins:
This is one legend that may possibly be true. We have received many, many e-mails verifying that this one is real.

WARNING: TRUE STORIES

''This is not a Halloween story but it might has well be. My aunt used to live in this part of Michigan that was kind of out in the country. Well, next to her house is an old cemetery. Also, about half a mile from her house is an old house, and my brother and cousins and I are convinced it's haunted.

It's made of a reddish brick, and has shutters that are all closed up, and those black, pointy, fence looking things on the top. There were never any lights on or people around. One day, my brother, my cousins, and I decided to go check it out. We figured we'd walk around the back yard for a few minutes and then leave. That's what we did at first. As it turns out, there was a huge, old barn
next to it, and a field. There was an outhouse, too and even one of those things that opens up to a cellar! Well, the door of the shed was open, and it was kind of swaying in the wind. We couldn't resist. My brother went first, and we followed him into the shed. There was another door, and we saw that this door went INTO THE HOUSE!

We tried opening it, but it was jammed. Then my cousin saw that it was open about an inch. We pushed on it together and it flew open. I don't know why but we all started screaming and ran out into the yard. I couldn't believe we actually did that. We were just going to go home, but then we thought that we would be wondering forever what would have happened if we hadn't gone in there, so we went back. We were soooo scared. The first room looked like a kitchen, and it had one of those really old stoves, the kind that sits on the ground with a black pipe going through the ceiling. That was my first indication that this house could have been, like, a hundred years old. The floor was starting to creak, which made me say out loud that what if it gave out and we fell down into the cellar??? That made my cousin almost start to cry but we calmed him down. We walked cautiously through the house.

There were a lot of small rooms. We didn't dare go down to the cellar. The front door was locked, and bolted and nailed down with boards, as were all of the windows. Did I mention that during this whole thing, we were all REALLY REALLY scared?? Well, we were just about to head back, when my brother saw...a staircase. An old, brown, winding one. OH MY GOD. We discussed whether or not to go up (my brother was the only one who would, but I didn't want him up there alone with the ghosts!) He said he would only go up a few steps to see if he could see anything up there, so we let him.

And that's as far as he got. He was on about the 5th step, when we heard a horrible crashing sound from the kitchen. We all started screaming, and ran out of there fast. We didn't bother to shut the door - which was probably our first mistake. We ran back to my aunt's house, past the cemetery. At the time, the only person we told about this, was my aunt. She's cool, and we knew she wouldn't tell anyone what we did.

Well, my brother and I eventually had to go home, but this is where it gets weird!! The next day, my mom took us back to my aunt's (my other cousin was going back home to Chicago the next day, and we wanted to see her again before she left). As we drove past the cemetery, I saw something really creepy. There were some men working there, and it looked like they were DIGGING A GRAVE. Now, I don't know if they still used that cemetery, I always thought it was too old to be burying new people there, but we were wondering - were they burying something - or digging something up?

We told my aunt about it right away, and she said that there had been a FIRE in the cemetery the night before. Now this was too weird. All of this stuff happened the day after we went there. There were now "no trespassing" signs all over the yard, which meant - someone saw us in there. We don't know who, but all I kept thinking was, what would have happened if my brother had gone
upstairs? I guess we owe our lives to that thing that fell in the kitchen!''

--

This is a true story. My father died in 1991, three days before Christmas. I was only 7 years old. He died in our house. After that, my mom and two brothers and I would hear strange things like in the hall way at night you could hear someone walking back and fourth. You could also hear some one humming which was what my dad use to do. The cupboards in the kitchen would open up and close. Once I had one of my friends sleep over and I didn't tell them any thing what was happening. We were in my room and my friend said that she heard a noise. I just said you're probably just hearing things. Then my door opened up and slammed really hard. We got up fast and ran to the door to see if any one did that but there was no one there. It was just strange. Then we went back over by my bed and started talking and laughing. We heard someone coming and we thought it was my mom, so we stopped talking. There was no one there again. We just heard foot steps. My friend got scared and said that she wanted to go home and she did. I also have heard violins playing but it was coming from the basement. There was so much stuff happening. There is alot more of things that happened. We moved from that house one year ago. I'm 17 years old now. This is true, everything that I have said.

Here's one. You lay down on a couch. One of your friends massage your head and tells you a creepy story about a clown or a Barbie Doll. You imagine it in your head and go to a dark bathroom, look in the mirror and see its face! Your friend is right behind you and scares you though. That's the secret. But it's still scary! :disgust:

I found this one on a scary website ^^ -enjoy!

One cold winter night, a sixteen year old girl named Brittany Snow, was home alone, watching TV. Her parents had gone out to a dinner party at a friend’s house. It had been snowing heavily all afternoon, but Brittany felt nice and snug as she sat on the sofa in the lounge, tucked up under a warm, fuzzy blanket.

By midnight, Brittany’s parents were still not home, and she began to feel uneasy. She didn’t want to call them, in case they thought that she couldn’t take care of herself.

The television was in the corner of the room, right next to the big bay window. She was watching one of her favorite movies, a horror film named Prom Night, when suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, she noticed something moving in the bay window.

Through the darkness and the falling snow, she could make out the figure of a man, walking towards the window. As he got closer, she was able to make out his face and it filled her with horror.

The man’s face was hideously scarred, his eyes were wild and crazy and he seemed to be grinning maliciously at her. Frightened, Brittany pulled the fuzzy blanket over her head and tried to hide. She hardly dared to move.

Slowly, she pulled the blanket aside just enough to peer out with one eye. The man was still there. He was just standing there, staring directly at her as the snow fell behind him. Then, he reached into his coat and pulled something out. It was a long knife.

Terrified, Brittany pulled the blanket back over her head and hoped that the madman would think it was just a pile of blankets sitting on the sofa. She managed to move her hand slowly over to her pocket and took out her mobile phone. Pressing the buttons in a panic, she dialed 911 and held her breath as she waited for an answer.

When the operator asked “What is your emergency?”, Brittany put the phone close to her face and whispered “There’s a man outside my window. He’s got a knife. Please come quickly.”

She sat motionless under the blanket as the minutes ticked by. Eventually, she heard sirens outside and the police started banging on her front door.

Brittany pulled off the blanket and rushed to the front door, letting the two police officers inside. They said they had seen no trace of anyone outside her house.

“He was right there”, said Brittany, pointing out the bay window to her snow-covered front lawn.

“That’s not possible”, said the female officer. “There couldn’t have been anyone standing out there. The snow is completely undisturbed. If there was someone out there, they would have left footprints.”

“But he was standing right there, staring straight at me”, said Brittany. “I saw him with my own two eyes.”

“You know, your eyes can play tricks on you”, said the male officer. “Maybe you’ve been watching too many scary movies”.

The officers turned to leave when. all of a sudden, the female officer stopped dead in her tracks. She pulled back the sofa that Brittany had been sitting on. Her jaw dropped and her eyes widened in shock. Brittany and the male police officer gasped.

On the carpet behind the sofa, there was a trail of wet footprints and a discarded knife.

“You weren’t looking at the man outside the window”, said the female officer. “You were looking at his reflection. He was standing right behind you all along.”

Now it's my turn :D Woah your scary stories are....scary! D: I am a nightmare-vulnerable person, but ey, let's write down something scary ;)

One day a young woman was taking a shower, and rubbing her skin with soap. When she looked at the soap, she saw there was blood on it. She noticed a little wound on her leg, right above her ankle. "How did that came there?" she wondered. But it was a small wound, she cleaned it with water and left it be. She took on her clothes and drove to her work, in an office.

A few hours later, at work, she went to the toilet. When she checked the wound, she saw it had grown. There was even a little blood stain on her blue trousers. With some paper, she depped the wound in order to make it stop bleeding. After that, she went back to work. After the lunch break, she felt pain in her under leg. The whole day before the wound didn't really hurt, but this pain annoyed her.

When she walked into the toilet and looked behind her, she screamed. There was blood dripping out of the under side of her trousers. There was a small trace of blood from where she came from to where she was standing. She ran into the toilet room and took off her trousers. Her whole under leg was one deep wound, she could even see the bone. "My god, how is this possible?" she wondered in panic. "I need to see a doctor for this!"

She tried to stand up, but her leg was in terrible pain. She took a good look at her wound, and saw the cause of her injury: small worms were eating at the edges of her wound. They were eating her flesh! Scared as she was, she tried to grab the worms one by one. She threw them in the toilet. But the last worm she picked from her wound bit her finger....and dissapeared into her skin rapidly.
The woman screamed with disgust. "Help! I am hurt!" she yelled.

Alarmed by her screaming, two colleagues of her, two older ladies, ran into the toilet room. "What's going on, Irene?" they asked her.
"Look at my leg! I am beeing eaten alive! Look, the wound is growing and growing!" One of the ladies took a look at Irenes leg.
"What are you talking about? I can't see anything, dear.. Aren't you a bit overworked? Perhaps it's period..?"

"No, look! There's blood all over my pants, the floor, even my hand now! Call 911!" Irene shouted in panic. "I guess we will call an alarm number.. stay right here!" the woman commanded Irene. Irene waited. She saw a wound at her other leg too. Worms were crawling under her skin. The wound grew while she watched. With toilet paper, Irene tried to stop the bleeding. She was trying to stay calm while her collegue was calling an alarm number. After that, she passed out.

Irene woke up in a white bed, in a white room. There were bars behind the windows and a small door with bars in front of it. She tried to sit up, but she was tighted to her bed. Irene watched her legs. Both weren't injured. Her hands were fine as well.
Suddenly a doctor walked in. "Ah, you're awake! How are you doing?"
"A doctor, thanks! I am fine, I guess...how did you heal my wounds so fast?"
"You hadn't any wounds, you were in a toilet room, screaming for help and depping your legs with toilet paper. You were screaming about worms, wounds and blood."
"Yeah, it was horrible....but I'm in a hospital now, and my wounds are gone. How did that happen?"

"Well, I'm not exactly a doctor. I'm a psychiatrist. You are in a psychiatric hospital. You were suffering from psychosis. You've been seeing and experiencing things that aren't there actually" he explained.
"I am not suffering from any mental ilness! And If I had, I am fine now, please let me go!" Irene shouted in confusion.
"I can't, the police wants me to keep you here for a longer time.... you've killed two of your collegues, calling them "giant worms"" the doctor told Irene.
Irene remained silent after hearing that.
(Might be continued in a horrible way later) :)
