Does Anyone KNOW LATIN. I need a translation..

Postby Songo » July 22nd, 2011, 1:44 am

Well long story short I'm trying to get a good Latin Translation for my next tattoo. The thing is...the online translators are each giving me different ways to put it. I know we have alot of members from other countries, so maybe one of you could help me. C: I wanted to know if anyone here knew how to write it. So...If you know how to write "I Struggle, But I shall survive." in Latin, please leave it below for me.

Thanks,

SONGO!

what do you think cesar spoke? Italian? Latin was a spoken language, today its spoken in the vatican. I've been learning latin for 5 years now, i' gonna give it a try when i'm back home.

Edit: oh well i just realized that that sound a bit unpolite. No offense to you ^^

"Ego Luctor Et Ego supersum."
"I Struggle and I survive."

Hope that helped ^^

Luctor sed supervibo which is obviously similar to Flip's. (I struggle but I will survive)
Luctans supervibo (Struggling I will survive)
Etiamsi luctor supervibo (Altough I'm struggling I shall survive)

It's hard to find the one that is perfectly right :/

[/quote]

Supervibo is the present active term, so that would be I struggle but I am surviving so far.
Superero is the first person (I) future indicative term (will) for survive (supersum)

Ah! So the way I see it,
Luctor sed superero would be exactly "I struggle but I shall survive" or "I Struggle but I will survive." Literally translates to both of those.
(You might want to wait for Libre to confirm it, but I think that is correct ^^)

I think both would make sense. (Superero and supervibo).
I hope Songo isn't too confused now :D
