Pit Bulls do not belong at dog parks period. even if they aren't at fault, and another dog starts a fight, the pit bull will be the only one blamed. dog parks are good used properly, but so few people do so. private dog runs are better, you can have your dogs free but not mix with other people's dogs. Pit Bulls don't always get along with other dogs, but do we always get along with other people? No. That doesn't have to mean we're bad.
Yeah, I know it's breed-casting, but still. When a big burly brindle Pit won't let your poor sunny even-tempered dog up & has him pinned, it leaves a mark. The Pit wouldn't let Wally up, and I must admit, when I pull up to the dog park now if I see a dog that looks like a Pitbull I don't get out, we go to a different park. I don't want a replay. Wally did all the right things, acquiesced, appeased, rolled over, it didn't matter. I see them as chancey dogs that I'm not 100% comfortable around.

Of course it was an un-neutered Pit, too, which absolutely should not have been in the park in the first place, but I have zero confidence in most Pit owners to know when their dog is crossing a line.
for fun's sake, which one is the American Pit Bull Terrier?

Dog 12

I don't know, when do we find out the answers? #12 looks just like my Wally! ...except he's yellow with a black muzzle and black nose :D

Can you message me the answer? XD

And, by that logic, I should be allowed to own a .50 caliber gatling gun.

Guns are made to kill people. Some dogs (such as pit-bulls) are trained to kill people.

Are all dogs trained to kill people? No. But not all machine guns are used to kill people either.

I really don't understand your point of view; not even remotely.

I feel bad for the Pitbulls. All the hate for many stupid owners.
It's the same case with the Staffordshire Bull Terriers in the UK.

Me thinks this song fits for a lot of the bull breeds out there..

great video!

Pit Bulls were bred to fight other dogs, not kill people. Those who have pit bulls that attack people are on a whole new level of evil. Dog fighting is bad enough, but the punks that have pit bulls attack are looked down on by the 'dogmen' who fight their dogs. Pit Bulls were NEVER suppose to attack a human, because that meant they'd lose money and it was a worthless dog to them. A pit bull is a very loyal animal, unfortunately some do not like other dogs and will not back down, but that's not a bad dog, it's a bad owner for putting its dog in a situation to be around other animals. remember Pit Bulls are also terriers, and all terriers have a tenacious go for it attitude as many were bred to hunt animals that could very well kill them. They were bred to please their owners and if it meant death, they'd do it.

but yeah, i understand the confidence in pit owners, because that is what it boils down to, proper ownership, and sorry but any person who brings their dog aggressive dog (or even potentially dog aggressive) to a dog park has not done their homework.

I will post the answer in a bit. :D

here's another good vid

Ok. since there's no new guesses I will post the answer. Dog number 14 is the American Pit Bull Terrier

Dog 1 is a American Bully, a relatively new offshoot of the 'pit bull', using larger bully breed dogs to create a larger dog. It is included in this test because it's popularity is high and people assume that it is what a Pit Bull Terrier is.

Dog 2 is an American Staffordshire Terrier. It is a direct offshoot of the American Pit Bull Terrier. They can still be duel registered as the AKC accepts Am Staffs only, and the UKC accepts both. A group of dog fanciers wanted to separate themselves from any association with the term 'pit' so they named their dogs the Staffordshire Terrier, later adding "American" onto it to distinguish them from the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. American Staffs are larger than American Pit Bull Terrier.

Dog 3 is an American Bulldog. A recreation of an old time Bulldog. Used to defend farms and hunt boars. They are larger then the English Bulldog and larger than the American Pit Bull Terrier.

Dog 4 is an Olde English Bulldogge, a further throwback to the olden days. It is a healthy taller version of the English Bulldog that is popular today. The way bulldogs were before breeders put looks over health. Because anyone knows the English Bulldog can be a pricey dog to own with the many health ailments they can get because of poor body shape and muzzle size.

Dog 5 is an Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog, another lineage traced back to the old southern plantation dogs of the 1700's. Alapaha comes from a river of that name in Georgia. "Blue Blood" is from their noble demeanor. It is finally getting some appreciation and is recognized by the American Rare Breed Association. Smaller than American Bulldogs.

Dog 6 is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. a smaller stockier bully most popular in England, but does have its admirers in the US. Strong, smart, courageous and a perfect 'nanny' dog.

Dog 7 is a English Bull Terrier. most recognized by its 'egg-shaped head', although over 100 years ago it more closely looked like refined head of the Am staff, they are also bigger than they had been now coming in bigger than the American Pit Bull Terrier. it has all the same character traits as its other bully relatives.

Dog 8 is a Boxer. as the others, originally a fighting breed and now is more of a working/guard dog. Another strongly built dogs, it is most recognized for it's shorter muzzle (although not all Boxers have such a noticeable pushed-in face) Very loyal and protective, well trained and socialized they prove to be wonderful pets for adults and children alike. They are larger than the American Pit Bull Terrier.

Dog 9 is a Dogo Canario ( Canary Mastiff) large Spanish Molosser-type dog breed originally bred for working livestock. They require a strong trainer but when they have one they are great dogs who can live with people, pets and livestock.

Dog 10 is a Cane Corso. A Italian Mastiff. Used and guardian and hunter. Similar to other mastiff such as the one above.

Dog 11 is a Patterdale Terrier. a type of Fell Terrier, used as a small working dog it is a typical terrier and requires good training to prevent impulsive behavior.

Dog 12 is a Labrador Retriever. a strongly built dog used as a gundog, usually retrieving waterfowl. Trained properly they are friendly and goodnatured, but require a good amount of exercise to prevent 'boredom' behavior. They are a slow maturer so they basically remain 'puppies' for longer than most breeds do.

Dog 13 is a Boston Terrier. long ago it was used as other bulldogs, and was taller and stronger than it is now. refined as a companion dog in the US it still holds it bull and terrier qualities.

Dog 14. the American Pit Bull Terrier. :) a medium sized bull and terrier. powerful and athletic. it has great confidence and zest for life. because of it's potential for dog aggression it requires an owner who will carefully socialize and obedience train their dog. human aggression is very uncharacteristic and highly undesirable, they were not bred to be guard dogs. they do very well in LEGAL dog sports as agility, obedience and weight pull.

Dog 15 is a Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog. named after Catahoula Parish in the state of Louisiana in the United States. descended from Native American-created breeds it is sometimes called a catahoula hound although it is not a true hound, but a Cur. Larger than the Pit Bull, it is well known for having the 'leopard' merle coat but they also come in other colors such as black, grey, brown and tri-color. a protective and alert dog, they need to be well trained and need daily interaction and they do not tolerate being ignored (nor should they have to) They should be considered assertive, not aggressive. That being said, it is a working dog such as herding, (also used for hunting), and if it doesn't have something to do, it will be bored.

this basic test ( i used different pics) is used to show that people can't always pick out what is really the American Pit Bull Terrier. which is the breed that is most targeted by BSL. (Breed-specific Legislation)

I've had 2 half-pit bulls before and they were both the sweetest dogs ever! Unfortunatly, both Perdita and Abby are gone on to doggy heaven and I miss them so much.
I am also a big fan of: Phantom of the Opera, High School Musical, Harry Potter, Disney in general, Days of Our Lives, musicals in general, Dr. Seuss in general and the Grinch.

I would like to say I have no problems with pit bulls, but unfortunately I do. Neighbours on our street let their dogs just run loose on the street sometimes and they have 2 pit mix dogs, I've been confronted by those dogs on several occasions when I've been trying to walk up the street. I end up turning around and going back home until they're gone. On the same count however, any dog that's out on it's own that's displaying aggressive/defensive behaviour towards me, I am going to be wary of.

I do believe pit bulls get a bad rap though. They really can be such sweet dogs, I think a lot of it is from bad breeding (from lines of fighting dogs etc) and also from just bad ownership. People get pit bulls and rottweilers and german shepherds etc because they want a dog that people are going to be scared of and that is going to protect them and their home etc. But having that attitude towards it, will simply install in your dog a defensive/aggressive attitude to anyone new in your home etc.

I have been charged at by a barking and growling pit mix, but on the same count, I have been charged at and bitten by many smaller dogs on many more occasions. To me, I find that the smaller terriers etc are more prone to biting, I've been bitten by one on the ankle while riding a bike and one owned by a friend is very defensive/aggressive towards strangers and I simply don't trust it. But you never hear about all those small dogs biting people because they simply don't do the amount of damage that a larger dog can do.

Long story short, pit bulls get a bad rap. Sure there are dangerous dogs out there, but there's dangerous dogs of every breed. If the dog is bred and raised right, there should be no issue. A friend of mine has a pit mix that adores people, loves other dogs and even gets along with their pet rats and is very gentle with them.
