Listen, I hate to be the one to tell you but art is a hobby not a career. What you got to focus on is not doing what you feel comfortable with, but doing what needs to be done to get food on your table. There's no shame in working in a mcdonalds along the side of university for money you know.

I'm aware that art has little of a future but I made several choices in life that got me here today and I lack the money to change that. I wouldn't mind working in a fast food restaurant or a hotel if I had to but the only thing near my place is a traditional market which I sell postcards at as I can't afford the transportation to other areas to work Tiong Bahru is quite far from the rest of the amenities. Even though art is meant to be a hobby I can't choose on what to do, but I focus on what the task is at hand such as exams and make the best of it. At the moment its a bit hard to find choices in a conformist society the main objective now is to bide time and survive for now till a better opportunity comes by but at the same time I want to improve what I do now in the case that the situation doesn't change(Especially after the Hard Truth Speech Session) it might take possibly a few years but I'm doing my best to pass this stage objectively even if it means using art as a survival means which isn't very much profitable but at least more than what I get for working in mc donalds at Bukit Merah or West Coast area where I',m pretty sure a lot of people in the state I'm in are already working there.

Seriously dude, don't get so down on yourself. Your graphics are honestly some of the best I have ever seen. Im suprised you are selling your stuff for as low as you are. As for being technologically up to date, you don't need it to be an artist. Hell, I'm a fan artist and all of my drawings are pencil and paper and I take pictures of them with my camera because I don't have a working scanner. You don't need super advanced stuff to just do what you love to do. Sure it helps sometimes like I would love to have all of the advanced art editing programs with different brushes and awesome tablet skills but i don't. I just stick to what I am comfortable with and what my budget allows. People have criticized me for not using color or for just eyeing a picture and putting it onto paper but I just ignore them and keep doing what I do. Someone has even bashed me for using colorblindness as an excuse for not liking color XD Truth is, people are just a-holes and there isn't much you can do to change their opinons about the "stupid" people around them and the "stupid" things they do. Just hang in there and do what you love. Thats my best advice.
