Why are so many people obsessed with anime?

You know, that is a good question and it sometimes floats in my mind. To be honest, I don't really like anime all that much, but I do respect it and it doesn't bother me. I am more into American animation such as Disney, Dreamworks, Warner Brothers, and others. I guess what appeals many people about is the complexity of the storylines and unique Japanese animation styles on the characters and other elements that make up any anime. Plus, anime can usually get away with more violence/imagery (not that it's a bad thing but something I notice. If I am wrong on that, let me know and correct me.) I do have one friend of mine who is a big anime fan and reads a lot of manga. Speaking of manga, I can never get into that along with how they read too. I prefer to read novels, but I have nothing against it either. Anime is just not my thing.

I must admit, I am starting to really get back into anime which has ACTUALLY been really nice. It's an escape from reality for me and some of the stories are so well written. Currently, I am watching Wolf's Rain and plan to rewatch Death Note and Claymore soon =) I love the style and the animation is great. You don't get many decent animated series these days so I watch anime instead x3

I like the animation style and the detailed stories, and how there's usually a lot there to offer. The only anime I've really followed weekly as they came out so far is Attack on Titan. But I do love some others, such as Hellsing, Death Note, DB/DBZ/DB GT, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Ghost in the Shell, Neon Genesis, FLCL, and I also love some anime films such as the Studio Ghibli films, Akira, and Vampire Hunter D lol

It just depends on your taste. I'm aware it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I love it personally lol
