Thank you.
THE ORIGINAL POST:
Are there people to join...? ...TLK roleplay game built on a forum, as in, the whole forum about the rp with gaming areas of different locations, and a seperated off topic section.
Please don't get me wrong now, I don't mean disrespect or unappreciation towards the great RP section here on this forum, but I personally am more comfy with rpgs that have one big plot for a base, and one (hopefully a long time/all time, and active) player for an individual character, and specific rules for everyone to follow.
Here's some info on what I'd love to go for, with you guys:
- It would base on the first movie only, including only its characters & original characters.
- The idea is an alternate universe . Starting with Mufasa not dying in the stampede but reaches safety after Simba, and thus Scar's schemes are revealed. Mufasa exiles him for good, telling him and everyone, that he will kill him (Scar), if he ever comes near Simba again. And Simba is put under special protection. We would decide what happens after that. This idea offers us millions of possibilities in where to take it and what will happen during it. No one has to die, and then again everyone can die, (but no one wants that, I'm sure.) Scar may try to murder his brother and nephew again, or he may do something else. The story's meant to develop as we play, though of course we could make bigger plans, too.
- All we would take out of the so called "TLK3", is Timon and Pumbaa living in the Prideland first. They just weren't in the stampede, and could've befriended young Simba earlier, or could do so after. They don't have to move to Hakuna Matata.
- I'd adapt information about real life lion prides ways of living and the Disney lion habits / human type kingdom, into the game infos.
- You could play as a lion (from Pridelands or outside), a hyena, a warthog, or a meerkat. Any character from the first movie, and/or create your original character.
- Everyone wishing to join, would need to write a character profile about the character they wish to play - even the movie characters. As in, tell us how you see the character, the more indepth profile, the better. (But let's relax, we don't need a full blown psychological analysis. But if you want to do that, by all means, do.)
- You can not just join, but need to apply for a character by writing the profile, and giving a sample of your roleplaying. And then wait for my possible approval. Approval is likely, if you've followed the guidelines I'd given in the information of the game.
NOTE: This would be an english version of my Finnish TLK roleplay game that I put up some time ago. I'd rather rp in english any given chance (as I hate my mother language and love english), and so wouldn't mind running the same rp in english, too, enjoying the company and ideas of different people.
SO... Would there be enough people to join and stay active and a long time, in this kind of a roleplay game? I won't start building it unless I'm sure it's not in vain.
Any questions I'll be happy to answer.
PS. I would of course play Simba myself. ;D Sorry, guys, but the admin's privilege to choose a character first, and he's my all time number one favorite.

EDIT://
PS2. NOTE: This would be a long term RPG, as this has a bigger plot idea with the actual plot in our hands. So, especially if you apply for an essential character, you'd need to be willing and able to commit to playing your character of choice, actively and for a longer time period - preferably for as long as the rpg exsists. Because we can not have essential (canon) characters too often drop out and end up without players / to change players, in the middle of everything. Of course, no one can be active all the time and life happens, sometimes making people quit whether they want or not - but the point is, that when you join, you'd be quite sure you can and want to, commit to a long term, usually active playing. (:
You can not apply for a character yet! I just need to know if there are enough people that would join this rpg for an active, long term playing. If there is, I could start building the game on a Proboards forum, publish it, and then, after reading the info, the rule and the joining guidelines, you could apply for a character by filling out a form.
