My Theory on Why I don't Support the Shenzi+Banzai Shippings

Personally, I don't believe Banzai + Shenzi are together sexualy and/or romantically because... well, I have my justifiable reasons to analyze this.

1) Whether they are sibings or not, hyenas encourage sex w/ strangers in order to prevent incest and/or inbreeding within the facility of the same clan.

2) Banzai assumeably has a high tetesterone and very agressive males have lower chances of ever mating because the females determine the best dominance drive for the pups- as hyenas' lives generally center around higher status within their centralized government ranks- and agressive males throw off that balance. A higher dominance drive is technically determined by the male's own drive and a more submissive male weighs out the trade-offs in determining a better dominance drive in the offspring. Female hyenas have high tetesterone rates equal to that of an average male and so agressive female + aggressive male= a low dominance drive in their offspring. Another way to look at it is a negative MULTIPLIED by or PLUS a negative equals a positive, but the only way to get two positives to equal a negative is to subtract the larger positive from the smaller one. So, a more submissive male actually scores higher chances of mating because he is the opposite charge of the female and that sort of acts like yin and yang. And once you put together the oppostite charges, the ultimate charge is created. And then you will have the perfect offspring.

3) Shenzi is the matriarch. Obviously. She will need a higher ranking male and/or Alpha male to mate with.

Duh.

4) And to tell the truth, in spite of Ed's mental stability or lack, thereof, he is more submissive than Banzai and, therefore, he has a higher chance of mating. If anything, however, Shenzi probably wouldn't mate him either way. Sorry Ed:)

5) Where in God's Kool-aid (again) do Banzai and Shenzi ever ever ever ever ever display romantic feelings and/or wanting a physical relationship? Huh??? Seriously, if not at least siblings, they are obviously the best of friends- - and I don't mean boyfriend + girlfriend.

6) They have to be siblings because, ordinarily, female hyenas DO NOT tolerate the presence of males EVER. The males and females live pretty seperately within their own spheres of power. Males and females only display team work during hunting parties and/or social hour. Rest of the time it is literally ''No Country for Old Men.'' Shenzi would absolutely never ever tolerate the presence of other males unless they were her brothers. Same sex usually are at endless competition with one another and will have the tendecy to kill. Same sex siblings let each other live, but they continue to fight, nonetheless.

So there's absolutely no clear reason for Banzai and Shenzi to be together *cough cough* sexually. I have listed above my rationale reasonings- disagree all you want- but they are facts that cannot be disproved. *sigh* Of course, fans will be fans and write/draw disbelievable and outrageous fan fiction/fan art that has no basis whatsoever. But in reality, these are the hardcore facts that apply directly to the Animal Kingdom.

I absolutely agree with this.

Of course, LK isn't very accurate in how animals act and are....I mean the likely hood of a lion singing is slim and Zazu still being there around the lions and they don't eat him...that's VERY inaccurate. xD

Again, I agree that Shenzi+Banzai can't work because of the things you listed. I think they could be siblings myself.

There is absolutely no romantic relationship between Shenzi and Banzai portrayed in the movie. Fans might made it up in fanfics, but the way they act towards each other makes one more think about them beeing siblings. I mean, if a good friend of me felt with his ass in the thorns, I wouldn't laugh....no, lying here...I would laugh. Well, anyways, they're more likely to be siblings.

That's the only "evidence" I could find that doesn't support the sibling theory. However... I always thought they were all siblings.

Me too, sad thing is that the way they are related is not specified or mentioned in the movies. I don't know about the musical, maybe answers are to be found in the texts of the musical? In one of the TLK6NA books a group of hyena's, including the TLK hyena trio, surrounds rogue Ni. Maybe in that page their relationship is mentioned? In relationship, I mean, the way they are related to each other.

Good theory. I never thought that Shenzi's mate was Banzai. I just thought the were close friends and Ed was Shenzi's brother so that's why he's with them instead of staying with the pack. =)
