"The Lion King's Timon and Pumbaa"

I am not a huge fan of the Timon and Pumbaa series, but I consider it very entertaining and a worthy spin-off of the movie. Yet, a lot of fans seem to, I dunno, hate it, or at least ignore it, to the point that it did not get a place on this forum...the place you'd think, of all places, it would be. Why?

OK, for starters, I won't deny that it doesn't fit into canon, and the tone of the show is a far cry from that of any of the movies, except maybe the last one. Still, does it deserved to be hated? I'm not necessarily saying everyone does, but it seems to be largely, well, ignored.

While I don't hate it---having Shenzi, Banzai and Ed in it made my day---I don't love it, especially since it created a story about Timon being banished that made LK 1.5 feel like a more original movie-styled repeat of what we'd already been given. Either way, though, I find it a good show for when I need to chill, and that alone makes it's existence acceptable in my opinion.

I like the series as well, I loved the episodes with Simba. However when comparing it to the movies I'd say it deserves to be considered it's own cannon as it made no real attempt to fit in with the movie.

I like that idea. I think of it set in an alternate universe from the movies...a universe that had a version of the original movie's story, in which Scar lived, since he appears in it twice.

That makes perfect sense to me. it also explains why things can be so different and get so zany in the series.
