Having a little fun with official Kovu and Kiara art...

Have you ever noticed that there are lots of examples of official Kovu and Kiara art in clip art, books, lithographs, etc...

Yet for some reason, these versions of them not only look markedly different from each other, but considerably different from their movie counterparts?

Well, I decided to have a little fun with the various other Kovus and Kiaras... : )

Nice! Kiara and Kovu's faces are priceless!! You should do one for Zira. In some storybooks, they illustrate her with dark brown fur in this picture. This picture is more accurate, but Zira's fur color is slightly darker and has blue eyes.

I actually was considering doing a similar picture of Zira, and possibly Vitani and Nuka and as well (ever noticed how virtually all the official Nuka artwork [including the infamous cub Nuka art] depicts him with mane on his cheeks, while he never has mane on his cheeks in the actual movie?). There isn't quite as much art of the three of them as there is of Kovu and Kiara, though.

(Good grief, what is wrong with Zira's mouth in that second picture!? It looks like her canines are about two centimeters apart! She also has a dewclaw on her hind leg in the first picture, which also looks a little freaky. Atavism much?)
