My personal Scar/Zira theory.

Note: I view all theories as plausible. Since no information was directly stated in Simba's Pride, I believe people may believe whatever they like to believe. I'm sure if you nitpick you can find flaws but you can do the same with all theories. Please respect mine and I'll respect yours.

In her mind, Kovu is 'the chosen one' because she wanted the cub to be beloved by Scar; Kovu was what initiated the disputes in the first place. She sees Kovu is a powerful lion, with a thick man, a loud roar, and a drive for power. Just like Scar always pictured himself. So by training Kovu to become what Scar wished he could be, Zira is convinced she is pleasing Scar.

That makes everything have some sense in the LK world. The only one I think is that Ahadi gave Taka his scar because he made friends with the hyenas and dos obeyed him on purpose. But good job!

Interesting theory. I always heard about that theory of Zira giving Scar his scar. But, I did always wonder if Scar mated with Zira: was it out of love or was Scar just using her?

Thank you for reading, LionPrince! A little bit of both; he did love her in a way, but was in turn very possessive, and controlling. However, Scar not being able to get any other lioness for a long-term relationship I think found Zira and tried to settle down with her. However, being the very... 'evil' individuals they are the chemistry broke.
