Nala's Father

Re: Nala's Father

Given the screen time TLK has, there was no room for going more deeper into character relations. Which is a bummer, cause I'd love to have found out some details regarding TLK,just like the matter of Nala's father. :?
I guess it's left for everyone to have their own opinion regarding that matter,if we don't get enlightened with some prequel background story explaining what happened before Simba was born.
But yeah, for me,her father is a a rogue... But there's also the possibility of Sarafina being part of another pride, where she got pregnant, and then she either got exiled or the pride got taken over and she ran away. Or she was a rogue herself, before Mufasa welcomed her into his pride.

I agree with a lot of people here. I think Nala's father is a rouge. It's makes more sence because people of all ages watch this movie, in my opinon. Idk, it just seems weird that a disney movie would make it that there was so much in breeding... I mean, c'mon, it's Disney! But, if I had to chose between Scar and Mufasa, I'd have to go with Scar... unfortunatly. Who knows, maybe Disney was just lazy! I don't think we'll ever truly know who Nala's father is, and I'm perfectly fine with that.

Like Ivan mentioned, it’s quite possible that Nalas father does not come from within Mufasa’s pride at all.

*believes it’s Scar though*

I don't think either one is her father. What about all of the other lionesses in the pride? Scar and Mufasa couldn't have been the fathers of all of them. What about Sarabi and Sarafina? Who were their fathers?

I don't know much about lions, and correct me if i'm wrong, but don't you think lionesses are joining and leaving prides all of the time? Just like Sarabi and Sarafina, they had to come from somewhere. I think that if either one was her father, they would have hinted at it in the movie.

Don't you think that if Scar was Nala's father, she would have gotten some more features from him, like color or face shape? And in the movie, Scar doesn't talk to or about Nala much.

I totally agree with you on this one. I mean, ''everyone'' is always focusing on just Nala as the lioness who we don't know who her father is. If it was regarding to that logic,of either Scar or Mufasa being the father, then just how much inbreeding would there be,considering that you have to take a look at Ahadi,Mohatu, and so going even deeper into the family tree. Regarding to that logic, all of them would have been the fathers of all the lioness. And just imagine how sick that thought actually is.

Yet another thing I agree with you on is the matter that there are no hints in the movie that either one of them could be the father. Just because it's not stated it doesn't mean that they're covering up something,it's just that it would be quite distracting from the main storyline. It's not that relevant to know who Nala's father is in the first movie, and so it's been left out.

And yeah,it makes more sense if either Mufasa or Scar weren't the father than if some of them was the father, just think of it.

And when you think about it, don't you think that we are thinking too hard about this? Since it's a "kid's" movie, I don't think they would make this too complicated. The same with all of those other questions about who's parents are who's, I think we are thinking too hard about it. It's fun to make theories about some of those topics, but still.

Hehe, maybe we are,but then again,I hate the thought of Mufasa or Scar being the father and that's why I want to dissuade anyone who thinks so.
It's only complicated cause there are very few hints on who might the father be,so one's logic has to figure out which choice of her father would be the best choice.

I agree. I don't believe Nala's father is any character shown in the movie. I'm guessing that he isn't even alive anymore.
I think that neither scar nor mufasa could be her father because some stuff in the movie itself wouldn''t make any sense. Before getting into any of that,i would like to point out that what was said on the lion king reunion (about her father being scar or mufasa) was actually a joke, considering they said taht roger allers could be her father. So what they were trying to say was that her father is unknown,at least for now...If there won't be another sequel. ;)
But back to the subject,Scar can't be her father because on the ion king on broadway he tried to mate with her...
Mufasa can't be her father becuase:
-in the movie he had no interaction at all to nala or sarafina
-in the scene where they sleep, mufasa sarabi and simba are on the middle rock,as they represent the king queen ad prince,if nala was his daughter, wouldn't she be up there too
-simba says that nala is his friend, but if mufasa was her father he would have to say sister, right? ;)
-Zazu tells how it's a tradition going back ages that they will get married( just like in the royal families),and that means that it would be impossible for them to be step siblings because that would mean that pride rock lions were incetious for generations.Nw how little sense would that make!
-When mufasa saves them from the hyenas,he says:'If you ever come near my SON again...' if nala was his daughter,he would probably mention them as his children
-Later on when mufasa is talking to simba alone,he says that he is dissapointed in him because he didn't listen to him and further more becuase he put nala in danger-which is normal for him to worry becuase for a parent taking care of someone else's kid is a greater responsibility than to take care of your own.

And to wrap it all up,it's a disney movie,so figure it out.
sorry for typing so much, but i had to get that out of myself... :D
Maybe Muffy didn't know that Nala was his child? :P Think about it, Nala looks a lot like her mother, so he probably thought it was a rogue's cub or something. As for the 'Simba's lesson' part... Nala would be only related to Mufasa and not Sarabi, so she isn't directly related to royalty if you get what I mean. xD And there's also that tradition of marrying your relatives to keep bloodlines clean or something like that. :? (Would explain a lot if Nuka was Scar's son-- sorry, joking)

Well, I'm still more inclined tot believe that Scar is her father when it comes to canon. Because in my own TLK universe, Nala's father is one of my OCs. :P

I'm sure he'd know, but I'm more sure that he wouldn't cheat on Sarabi, nor be willing to betroth his son with his daughter. Just think about it,it wouldn't make much sense. She does, she actually doesn't look like anyone else in the movie, which is why I'm inclined to think that her father is a rogue.
Actually,in that scene he's talking to Simba as his 'son' not as a part of the royal family so he should have mentioned Nala as well if she was his daughter. But even if she was,she would be connected, she is the king's daughter. And a king can choose his wife and make her queen, even though she isn't royal.
Yes,there is that tradition at some points in history, but I don't think that would apply here, cause it wouldn't fit to Kiara and Kovu being together. Then again, this is a Disney movie,so traditions regarding incest are totally out of the question.
I'd have to agree with you that someone else would be Nala's father,I mean,if you look at the whole TLK universe as a whole, not separated into canon and OC.
