Wow, even more unnamed cubs (in the untranslated comic)! :-o Are my tired eyes lying or do some of them have blue eyes?
Great work at translating these! Thank you, Akril!
Is there none originally in english? o.O Except maybe the film in a comic book form, which in my opinion, is quite lame.
There are just a few that appeared in English -- unfortunately, I think most of them are Timon and Pumbaa comics that appeared in Disney Adventures.
But Simba says in this comic that he's never tried flying, so apparently this one sets to a time before the orphaned birds. Btw, this became another favorite of mine. I love the cute drawing style anyway + the ending box here. x)
Ah, good point. I thought this comic was cute too, especially how Zazu was being such a wise-cracker.
But most o fthe earlier page's links don't work anymore. :/ At least not for me.
Which comics are you having trouble viewing, though? All the links on the earlier pages in this thread that I tried seemed to work.

You're welcome!

I think all of the unnamed cubs in this new comic have blue eyes. Unfortunately, even though they're not clones of Simba or Nala, they're all clones of each other -- only a couple of cubs have slightly different designs because of coloring mistakes.

(And I must say, Mufasa certainly allows a lot of cubs that aren't his own children to be part of his pride...)

Well, after all these weeks, I finally managed to translate that comic that I just posted. The reason it was giving me so much trouble was because it had a lot of Dutch idioms and expressions in it that Google Translate couldn't comprehend. Once I was able to figure those out, though, the rest was pretty straightforward.

And now, the last foreign-language TLK comic (for now): "Simba Learns a Lesson."

I think the earlier translations took several hours, but once I became more familiar with the language structure, I was able to type them into Google Translator quicker and put them together in a couple of hours or less, depending on the length of the comic.

Akril,
oh, they work now. I guess there was just something wrong with my browser yesterday. It was just for so long and with most but not every link that I though it might be something else. (:

So... Read the rest now:

I love the party preperations one. What drama he came up with. x) I like that Cheeky Bird one, too. But is it just me or does Mufasa look a lot more like adult Simba, in that one, than he should?

And I think that cub SImba & Timon & Scar comic was rather stupid... I think it's something to do with my love of the echoed roar's purpose originally... Plu,s Timon shouldn't be there. I appreciate AU as long a sit makes sense, and to me this doesn't. (:

But that comic is not why I don't consider the comics canon, but because they are not Disney's origin anyway.

LOL, yeah, Simba dear, you Daddy SMOKES eagles... Oh, but that reminded me... I've been wondering if these comics take some artictic freedoms or something with the animals... I mean, gorillas and eagles on savannah? At least none of the sites I can find any information on the savannah animals, don't mention those?

Okay. Glad that problem's been cleared up.
I like that Cheeky Bird one, too. But is it just me or does Mufasa look a lot more like adult Simba, in that one, than he should?
He does look a tad like Simba, now that you mention it. He sometimes looks a bit younger in the comics than he does in the movie.
And I think that cub SImba & Timon & Scar comic was rather stupid... I think it's something to do with my love of the echoed roar's purpose originally... Plu,s Timon shouldn't be there. I appreciate AU as long a sit makes sense, and to me this doesn't. (:
I agree. That comic doesn't make sense on any level. If Timon were replaced with one of the non-lion characters deleted from TLK during the production phase like Tesma or Iggy, it might be make a bit more sense.

I've got a guide to birds of western Africa, and some of the eagles in it are described as living in open country and on savannas. As for the gorillas, though, I can only guess that the comic authors thought it was okay to have them in the Pride Lands since they appear (very briefly) during the "Circle of Life" sequence and "I Just Can't Wait to Be King".

Akril, as you here on MLK seem to be the official translator of the comics.
So could you please also translate the rest of the four comics which haven't(?) yet been translated? You're doing good job on these!

You don't have to hurry with them, take your time!

"Die Brücke am Fluss"
"Simba und der traurige Elefant"
"In letzter Sekunde"
"Zwei Sänger auf Tournee"

Ah, the thread returneth!

Two of those four comics have already been translated and can be found in the Photobucket album I linked to in my first post:
"Simba und der traurige Elefant"/"Simba and the Sad Elephant"
"In letzter Sekunde"/"At the Last Second"

As for the other two, I tried translating "Zwei Sänger auf Tournee" some time ago, but I was unable to come up with anything intelligible out of most of the dialogue, so I think I'll leave that task of translating that comic and the Timon and Pumbaa one-page comic to someone who actually knows German and doesn't have to rely on Google's translation, if that's okay.

Eh, "Simba and the Sad Elephant" is in German. :/

But thanks for the link to the other and trying to translate.
