You know, even if Scar or Mufasa were Nala's father... I doubt little kids would realize what is seen as "wrong" with that (between Simba and Nala), so they could have been planned to be her father from an early stage in the production...

Although, if Scar was Nala's father... Nala might be related to Nuka and Vitani... xD

Yeah,but this isn't a movie just for little kids.look at us.
If Mufasa was her dad it would be very obvious,too obvious to even think of it as a realistic possibility.even for kids.And why would Disney plan for Mufasa to be her father? First of all,they would lose money,considering how people would be grossed out to even see the movie.Second of all,they might get in confllict with the church,for putting incest in an animated movie that would be clearly watched by many children.
There's one more argument for Scar not to be the father,hehe..

If Scar was Nala's father, it would better explain why in the second movie Vitani was taunting Nala. :P Just a thought, not saying he is.

But there's also a possibility that Vitani is not Scar's daughter,maybe she was adopted just like Kovu,not that it matters too much,hehe.
There was apparently a lot of stuff going on during scar's reign and simba's too that was not shown,so all that is just a theory...

Nala could not have been Mufasa's child because if she was, Scar would have had to kill her too in order to get the crown. But he didn't kill her, so either he or someone else, was her father.

Exactly,Mufasa ain't her dad...
But Scar can't be the father either,he tried to make Nala his wife(in TLK on Broadway),so that leaves only the possibilty of a rogue lion being the father.

I believe, if they were shown in the movie, it would be Mufasa, because normally, lion cubs are born from the king, am I right? Also, if that is not the case, I would think that it would be in the books. Because, I think I hsaw/heard somewhere that Taka got his scar in a stampede or something...
