Hollywood's Top 10 Animated Movies

This is mostly because people who actually appreciate movies, well... watch them. It's the other people who actually go online and rate them. Good movies you hear of by word of mouth. Bad movies make their way up the lists.

^ umm, that has nothing to do with the topic.
*agrees with DFGone*
people are looking at the animation, not the story.

Yeah, and now with 3D, there is yet another reason to ignore story, and instead go with visuals. Hopefully, soon the 3D craze will die out, and people will start seeing "older, outdated 2D" movies in a new light: They were great movies when they came out, and still are. There is no reason why TLK should be ranked lower because it doesn't look like CGI. And add to the irony, but the Lion King used A LOT of computer graphics. Yes, it's true that the Wildebeest scene was the only one to use what most people consider as CGI (creating many copies of the Wildebeest), but computers aided almost every frame. So in it's own way, The Lion King was the big CGI animated film of it's day. It's just that the producers knew that computers can only get you so far, and went with the story instead.

Story first. Computers second. That's how it should be done.

exactly, how do you expect the stampede and the flames and rain to carry out? Also, the producers put in alot of effort, they made every wildebeest it's own color, and I mean, there was like 500. it's true SP used even more and messed up, but they didn't go that far.

Shrek nr. 1? Bad choice, I must say. I think the sequel is better, although Shrek probably has the funniest joke I`ve ever heard in any animated movie.

I wouldn`t mind if one of the Toy Story sequels were at the top, but Shrek? No, no.

When I read the first post I thought the number 1 would like Finding Nemo or Snow White, but Shrek? It is not so good that it deserves to be number 1.

^ a little, but...

TLK IS a great movie, but second place isn't that bad. Actually, it's very good. Shrek is a good movie, maybe in our opinions worse than TLK, but it is good. They may have put much worse movies in front of TLK =P

I don't believe any of the newer movies such as Shrek should've made it onto that list. If they're going to list any of Hayao Miyazaki's they should've also listed Princess Mononoke or Castle in the Sky. That's not to say Spirited Away isn't worthy but I feel those two movies were better. But Spirited Away did make me cry at a point so maybe it's worth it. But definitely not Shrek! I enjoy it and I love it to pieces but I also like the sequel more. Although it doesn't deserve a count on the top ten and it's definitely not number one.

People would rather laugh at fart jokes than enjoy a good story :ugh:

( not saying it's not a good movie with good morals and lessons because it does but TLK is alot better )

I also think Plague Dogs should've been listened, as well as Animal Farm. The animation with Animal Farm might not be as crisp but it shows the realities of the real world and how society works.
