I actually see it quite easy how to make Kopa and SP exist in the same universe. But what I do agree with is that it's impossible to try and combine absolutely everything Disney did with The Lion King and stuff it into into the same universe.
After all, just try to begin and wrap your head around how the Timon and Pumbaa show can possibly be canon.
