I still think that Kopa was killed by Zira, since Kopa had befriended Vitani and Nuka. But it would be much nicer if Kopa could escape and has now formed his own family. And perhaps in a new TLK film reappears.

I would have had Disney use some of the deleted scenes from the movie, instead of the ones that actually made it into the final cut.

To be honest, I think he might be a bad one 
He was hardly taught about becoming king by Zira and possibly Scar, most of his life he was trained to kill Simba. Unless Simba teaches him everything he needs to know before he steps down, then Kovu could be a great king

That's a theory. There's no official media that states that Kopa befriended Vitani and Nuka.
