Kopa's death: False

I don't understand. Isn't belief a thing that happens when there's a mystery with no facts to settle it? But in this case one of the sequel's animators has confirmed that in their story the cub from the first film is Kiara. So is the mystey in the differing designs and ceremonies, making some think that the guy is lying? What about remakes and redesigns being a very common thing in movie business? I think that seems to fit with the confirmation of that there is only Kiara. So where does the I-believes come from?



But I do think it was stupid of them to go and remake the ceremony and cub's design that entirely. The least they should've done to make up for it in the film, is to have put into some character's lines directly that Kiara is their first and only child.

There is evidence to support the "zira killing kopa" story. And my reasoning is as follows:

During the seven year or so reign that scar had when simba disappeared, scar and zira had nuka. Vitani came later when kopa was born but kopa wasn't conceived untill nala found simba and then when they were alone they mated and nala got pregnant. Then when simba went back to pride rock and defeated scar, it took a bit but the grass got greener and everything went back all beautiful again, nala had her first cub. And by the looks of it you could tell that it was obviously a male cub.

Then zira was mad at simba for supposedly killing scar which, it was the hyenas and so she got revenge on him by killing kopa, which is why she as well as her pride and her offspring was exiled and the only reason simba exiled them was because he is not a killer. Hense why he didn't kill scar when he found out that scar killed his father. So when he exiled zira kovu got exiled too because he was born around the same time kopa was and vitani was. Vitani is slightly older than kiara because kiara was born when kopa died because simba and nala needed a new successor.

When simba confronts zira when kiara and kovu meet she says to him "if you need your pound of flesh, here." And hpushes kovu towards simba which indicates that she wanted to anger sima because she knew he wouldn't have the heart to kill an innocent little cub because he is not a killer. Then when adult kovu meets up with simba he says to him "judge me now for who I am, or am I to be blamed for a crime I didn't commit" which also indicates that simba blames every outlander that is associated with zira for killing kopa.

And lastly, simba is way too over protective of kiara, not because its his first born which she is not, but because he doesn't want her to get hurt or killed hense why the outlands are forbidden and zazu calls them "murderous outsiders". I will admit, most of the second movie doesn't make sense but the zira part does. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

Your fan theory isn't evidence to support the existence of Kopa in the film series.

I don't think Disney downright confirmed whether that Kopa existed or not, but the filmmakers on the audio commentary named the cub at the end, "Fluffy" (a unisex name), not Kopa. Therefore, Kopa doesn't exist, and because of his denial from the first film, his relatives such Ahadi and Uru also don't exist, though both of Mufasa and Scar's parents were mentioned, but not named specifically. The source WhiteFang is referred to is this Australian version of Disney Adventures magazine interview with Kovu's lead animator, Andrew Collins. (See here). At the bottom right when you zoom in, he confirms that SP picks up where the first film left off, and that "Fluffy" is a queen, confirming it is Kiara after all. So, The Lion King filmmakers indirectly denied Kopa's existence in the films, but never directly.
