yeah, I found that a several years ago when I got lost in Disney.com's help section lol. I was trying to find out what was wrong with the Disney Girlfriends server.....I eventually found it, but not before getting lost in the help pages lol. so while I was lost, I figured I'd read some of the FAQ that was there, and I came across something that answered with a similar response that you got.

What makes you guys think there won't be a new film? Not blame or triumph over anyone, but I don't think what you say is true. Sure you are right that Disney will not allow new ideas of films by fans, but that does not mean they will never ever make a film. And are all of you sure you are Lion King fans? Because you sound like you are very fond of any of them. I think the first publisher is telling the truth. Another thing is that those whose family members work for Disney and know what is coming this year or soon, are most likel telling the truth. I, like some others, had no reason to doubt them. Remember that Disney 2D Animation has returned, or did you forget? What ever you guys might say that it will never happen, you could be wrong you know.

Just because 2D animation had returned, doesn't mean the King has.

I honestly can say that I'm 99.99% sure that they won't make a new one.
I really really want them too! Don't get me wrong, but I just can't see it happening.

And erm, yes ^^ I assure you we're all very fond TLK fans, but I think most of us have realised that no matter how much we want them to, Disney won't bring out a new film.

We know we could be wrong, but by all the things Disney has said, I doubt we are. You know, you could be wrong too ^^

I might be, but you said, to me it doesn't seem to prove anything. No offense.

Besides, someone said he got information from a disney employee. If I did show you where I found it, you won't believe me. But what I know is that is is not fan made.

Ooh, don't worry, none taken.

But I think with something like this, one has to assume they're not going to, unless they actually do. Less chance of being dissapointed.

Edit: and yea, you're right. I can't believe anything yet, not untill I see trailers for it, or imformation on imdb.

I think you might be missunderstanding me. I'm not saying there won't be, I won't feel like an idiot for saying this if there IS one being made, but given all the information I've heard and Disneys track record, I think there won't be one.

neither does anything you're saying either

and it seems rather silly to question any of us of being fans when we're on a TLK fansite. quite a few of us even created our own TLK fansites. I even paid money to buy a domain to provide as much as I could about my favorite movie. and generally, there's no question how much we all love the first movie. but the sequels just don't measure up to the original, as is sadly the case with so many of Disney's movies. TLK2:SP brought in many plot holes, and TLK1.5 in going for humor messed up some fans' favorite scenes from the original.

aside from this, if they pick up where they left off many of our favorite characters will be getting old and fading into the background further.

often, Disney makes movies in 3s and leaves it at that, with few exceptions. and if you'll recall, when the 2nd film came out on special edition DVD, it was advertised as, "Get this final chapter in The Lion King trilogy to complete you collection today!" which doesn't give us much hope. the ending also doesn't betray any sign of continuence.

one more thing is that just because someone says they're related to a Disney employee doesn't make it true. and even if they are, that doesn't mean they were told about any plans for movies. and you can't know for sure unless you're there.

finally, 2D hasn't returned to my dismay. all current animated movies in production are still 3D ish CGI, and there's no rumors that hold water of any upcoming 2D at the moment :(

it'd be wonderful if they did surprise us and create a worthwhile sequel in 2D, it's just the odds are against it.

The Princess and the Frog was already in 2D Animation, and they are already making a new Winnie the Pooh sequel set for 2011. Does that convince you that 2D animation has returned?

I agree that 3D animation had quite a buzz of growth from 1994 - 2010, but I believe animation movie makers are starting to calm down from that rush and they are starting to realize that the choice of 2D or 3D should depend on the movie. For example, Finding Nemo and UP were good 3D animations, and could hardly have been done in 2D animation. The Lion King and Princess and the Frog (which is trying to resemble the older Disney princess films, I think) are perfect 2D candidates.

So yes 2D animation has returned, thank God. But I believe 3D animation will forever be more prominent in the animation movie making industry.

Yes, I agree with what Moka said.
They'll continue to make 3D films where suitable, but still make 2D movies (Probably tradigital if I'm honest) where they're suitable.

We know 2D is making a come back, why are you being so argumentative in all your posts? XD
