That's the only "evidence" I could find that doesn't support the sibling theory. However... I always thought they were all siblings.

I doubt they're mates, they strike me more as best buddies, but that's really up to the interpretation of the viewer. ^^

Yeh I rekon they were just mates, and I don't think Shenzi was the matriark (or however you spell it) because of how much time she spent away from the rest of the hyenas. If she was the leader, she would be more involved. I think the three were just buddies, and maybe the rebel hyenas who thought it was cool to hang out with a lion

I highly doubt Shenzi and Banzai had a thing going. She does seem to lead the trio but it is more of a cooperative thing. They are more like a bunch of misfits who came together for support. Not really mate type activity.
