The Lion King 1½ is not how I want to say goodbye to my favorite characters. Also, it's never too late to make another film to an established franchise. Hollywood does this all the time. For example, in 2010, Pixar released
Toy Story 3 more than a decade ago after they released
Toy Story 2. That same year, Disney made a sequel to
Tron, which was released in 1982.

I agree. Sequels that come out several years after the first or second film are usually good. When do it at a closer date, you can tell that the storyline was sped through. It was merchendise. LK 1 1/2 was a let down for me mainly because I am fed up with Timon and Pumbaa.
