The Timon & Pumbaa TV series

Personally for me it doesn't bother me one bit that the T&P show deviates from TLK. I always thought it was cool to see what whacky adventures Timon & Pumbaa got into. the show is what got me into Timon in the first place. :)

I didn't watch the show when it originally aired since I was a still a toddler, but I watched some of the episodes when they were reruns on Toon Disney. Most of the parts, the episodes were simple, though often times stupid with Ren & Stimpley-like humor. The animation was in poor quality. One thing that deserves some recognition was the voice acting. Quinton Flynn, but especially Kevin Schon did a good imitation of Nathan Lane, and it was comforting to hear Ernie Sabella, Robert Guillaume, Jim Cummings, and Nathan Lane (in some episodes) return to voice their characters. It was always a treat to see Simba or the hyenas in one of the episodes. Some of the new characters were tolerable, while others were obnoxious and annoying. So far, my favorite episodes were "Rome Alone", "Once Upon a Timon", "Russia Hour", and "TV Dinner".

Overall, it was a fun show, but there were better cartoon shows back then like Animaniacs, Gargoyles, and Arthur among many others.
@Cleargreenwater, We are the same age lol at first I kinda dismissed it as a kids show but I found myself always coming back to it as I developed a real liking for Timon. There were a number of episodes centered around the hyenas if I remember right ;)
Oh yay, another old person!

Alright, you re-piqued my interest in finding those few I missed  Did they ever end up putting this show out on DVD, or has it been lost in the VHS void like so many other cartoons?

QFT, Gargoyles was awesome, Animaniacs right up there too. I still love their Pocahontas spoof XD

It's odd, to say the least! All the time, it feels like it's trying to parody Looney Tunes, but between the fact that it's about Disney characters, and was made in the 1990s, it really ends up being one of those "so-bad-it's-good" series.

Also, why doesn't it have a place here where we can discuss it? There's no forum for it online....
