Did Scar Love Zira?

well, I think Zira was pretty much his number one crazed fangirl rather than his mate.

now as we know from the cut scene that later made it into the Broadway, Scar did have the idea of making Nala his queen to produce heirs (plus he clearly thought her beautiful). now given Scar's personality traits and all, this was because he desired a trophy wife to rather complete his role as a king than for love. and since he was so smitten with her, it's hard to believe he'd settle for Zira. sure Nala left, but there were plenty of other options in the pride....prettier and more sane options.

I personally think Scar being enraged at Nala's refusal and abscence, made it near impossible for himself or a pride lioness to be willing to be mates. in need of an heir, he went to the Outlanders where Zira had young cubs. he choose the newborn male as his heir because of the slight resemblance and that the cub was second born much like himself (and Nuka was clearly not up to par, and Vitani was a female). in return, he allowed the Outlanders back into the pride. Zira had it in her not-quite-right little mind that because her son was going to be king one day, that meant she would be the queen...only Simba returned and took back his throne before she could find out that Scar was just using her for an heir and had no intention of sharing his power with her.

well, according to one SP storybook, he did originally have a plan to become king using the lionesses that became the Outlanders as an inside advantage. but when they started causing problems, Mufasa banished them to the Outlands. the line Simba uses when confronting Zira and young Kovu, "My father's law will prevail," seems to back this one up.

Personally, I always beleived that Zira and Scar were in love. But thats just my theory

Well, personally I believe that Zira and Scar were related in some way.
