My collection today is not what it once was in my childhood.
There was once a time where at one time or another I had plushes of almost any character you can think of:
*Simba: newborn, young cub, and adult
*Mufasa; he actually came with a little Simba (Not a very good one), and the little Simba had a brown tuft of mane which actually made him look like what Kopa is portrayed as on youtube.
*Scar
*Shenzi
*Nala; both as a young cub and as an adult
*Kovu, young
*Timon
*Pumbaa
*Rafiki (with velcro hands and feet like those popular little Capuchin monkeys)
*Zazu (I think, I may be wrong on this one. I don't remember for sure).
To this day only Scar and Pumbaa remain. I replaced Simba at one point who was thrown out with a bunch of other stuffed animals that had been on my bed during a lice period I had in the 8th grade. The Disney store was having a major sale on him, so I got him at a steal for $7. But his quality was far inferior to my original Simba who actually came from Disneyland itself like right after the movie came out. I was like 8 or 9. I still miss him, he was previous to me. I am not sure if I have the replacement Simba, I might have recently given him to Goodwill.
I left adult Nala at daycare by accident, and someone stole Timon at the carwash within a bag of other things I had with me while with my dad one day. I had set the bag down right next to me and looked away for a split second.
The rest fell victim to my mom, she had a bad habit of throwing my things away when I was not around without bothering to care about my opinion. This was part of the big Lice loss which original Simba was involved in. I lost a lot of other stuffed animals that day which meant a lot to me.
Other Lion King things that I had were:
*Pajamas
*Newborn Simba slippers (damn I loved those, they were effing adorable!),
*t-shirts(I am still a t-shirt lover to this day)
*My second grade backpack(maybe third as well, I am not sure). It was the plastic-y kind with a picture of Adult Nala pinning adult Simba.
*Bedsheets
I also had the video game for the SNES, but I could NEVER get past one of the ostriches in the second level. No matter how I tried to jump I would get knocked off which was treated as a death. Then I had to give up my SNES when my mom got me a PS for Christmas.
Just last year or so however my best friend and I finally beat the game on a computer emulator, but even as college students we had a hell of a time with it. It is HARD. I think whomever design it and a few other Disney SNES games forgot to consider that it was supposed to be meant for children.
I also had the Lion King interactive storybook for the PC. Computers were still newish when I was a child so my dad's compaq kind of screwed up with it sometimes but I was addicted to it. I remember Timon as the host like character who pointed to all the menu options and explained them, and the Timon and Pumbaa bug catching mini game that I liked the most.
ALL of it is gone except the Scar and Pumbaa plushies. Pumbaa's large mouth has been serving as a good place for some of my stuff. He also wears my Santa hat year young until it's time for me to wear it Christmas eve. I got him the same Christmas I got the newborn Simba slippers I am pretty sure. I was like 8 or 9 or something. I love him. I don't think there is another one like him anymore. Same with Scar, I have no idea where Uncle Scar found Scar, I have never seen him.
EDIT: Wow forgot the collection of plastic figures I had of the characters including the McDonald's set and the board game.
