I wouldn't be surprised that at least for The Lion King, it is being released specifically for the 20th anniversary!

It really is wonderful that the complete score is finally being officially released. While some may find it redundant due youtube uploads of those old bootlegs surfing the net for a very long time, as well as the recording sessions that were leaked two or so years ago in pristine condition, it's still better for people to go out and support this release by purchasing it. Besides, this set is worth it just for the intriguing score demos on the second disc alone. The liner notes and other fresh information bound to be packaged with the set will hopefully offer some new in-depth insight on each track and every reoccurring motif as well.
