I know right? Those hand painted backgrounds feel like are straight out of classic Disney hand drawn movies.

I love modern Disney CGI but the traditional hand drawn stuff has a special place in my heart.

The backgrounds make it really obvious the style has changed. I bet it's a lot easier to animate well in whatever program they're using (which I know is not flash but is similar to flash anyways)

Now we just need to see Pride Rock

I think they are using ToonBoom animation, since it's the same program they used to make The Princess and The Frog. The style looks kind of square-ish or straight.

Yes, they are using ToonBoom.

The backgrounds look awesome! The trees in the first picture could use some work, but they're really looking good so far!
