Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the whole job of being a moderator, to keep track of members behavior, and to look over all posts for any offenseive and otherwise rule breaking content? I know when I was staff, that was the point of it. So, by that logic, how is it suddenly extra work to pick out the members who contribute meaningful posts to the forum, from those who just choose to post a one word response to every single thread? I had no trouble getting a sense of who each member was back when I was part of the staff team, and before it's said that MLK wasn't as active back then, I'd politely disagree, as the forum was just as active then, just with a different set of members. You cannot use the argument that this will "lessen the load of work moderators have to do", cause again, you're not getting rid of these threads, you're just moving them to a different location on the forum. Plus, if the work load is supposedly THAT taxing, simply hire another mod. It clearly couldn't be THAT hard to do, since there are SO many deserving members out there on the forum, right?

For those members who keep pointing out the analogy that FlipMode used in regards to the Member Dens and the Staff Area, you seem to be missing the whole point of why he even wrote that. It was just to show the flaw in the argument that taking away Member Dens would somehow magically make this place free for everyone to call their own, even though it is still like that with the Member Dens in place. Plus, if you're now going to state that new perks might be added in the future, then you are totally contradicting the whole reason why you are getting rid of something that isn't even problematic in the first place. Don't say that you're going to reward members after you've already stripped them of what they rightfully earned.

If we're going as far as making this place free for everyone, by the logic given, lets get rid of FAA pages, Member Wiki Pages, and all that other stuff that makes an individual unique on the forum, cause it's not fair to those who don't or can't draw, or those who are not good at writing. Where do you draw the line when it comes to what's fair for all, and what's just a not very wwell thought out move on the part of one person. Sure, it is your forum Moka, but don't you think you should have at least given your members a say in the matter? Why is it that every time new members are added to the staff, something on the forum either gets put back the way it was before the previous staff team was in place, or gets changed for no logical reason? Seriously, if it ain't broke, why fix it?

I strongly disagree with this decision. It will make the den a lot more cluttered, topics will be very hard to find and the topics from the people's dens will probably be lost along the way. I don't see how taking all the topics from the den and stuffing them in one subforum will do any help, both on the members side or on the moderators side. People can post in dens however they want,it's not making groups nor separating members from another. Some of the people I know now on MLK I know only because of the den topics, which are a convenient place to chat with someone.
All in all,I disagree with decision,it doesn't make much sense to me.

It's an unnecissary part of the forum, KM. Anything you can post in the member rooms you can post in the dens, you can post in The Den already. So why do we need two boards of the same thing? That's the thing that doesn't make sense to me. At least with this new change people will feel a little more free to post ask me topics in The Den, and it will make the forum a little open.

Also, your arguement about the FAA and Wiki being unfair is kind of not true. If that kinda logic were to actually apply, then this forum wouldn't be fair in the first place for non-TLK fans.

It's already been said by Moka the entire Den is going to be organized into more proper sub-boards, in stead of being cluttered into one section. Also, you point on the fact that you met a lot of people through the dens just prooves the point. If some people are only meeting people in the dens, then how is it fair for the people who don't feel comfortable posting in them? :P

The member dens were something special though. It would be like a child doing all his/her chores without being asked/reminded. So, you give that child a puppy. Then, just after you see this kid's happy reaction, you take the puppy away just because the neighbor kid wanted one too. It's probably not the exact same thing, but the point is that it's not right to take something away from a member who clearly earned it just because other members wanted it.

Could the members have atleast been able to vote on this decision?

Why would people who are theoretically too uncomfortable to post in the dens have it any different in the said sub boards? If they're uncomfortable posting, they won't post anywhere. The dens were a good place to socialize with the members more personally and have a been a great part of MLK for a long time. I don't see where the problem is, nor how moving the dens away is gonna change anything. It's just gonna prove disorganizing and harder to post.

I thought no one would ever get what I meant by that, let me give you a pride poi... Oh you disabled them, never mind lol.
But yeah KM s right there, guys the point was to show a flaw, it is not an analogy to be taken literally. My main point was that, it goes against the reason that was given for removing member dens.

And I am not saying you can not remove them, but that just taking them away with not even a word of warning is downright disrespectful.
And it has not been a problem before, so really it just seems like a random thing to be doing.
The only POSSIBLE + of it, is that yes it makes it more "fair" for newer members / people who may not get dens. But even then, it takes away from those who already earned them, so the only valid point, has a downside to it.

Unless anyone replies directly to this post, this is the last I am saying on the matter - I do not agree and will never be happy with this, but if that is of no concern to you, then go ahead and do it anyway.

I'm not sure what you reffering to, KM. Please specify.

QS, this isn't all to do about other members complaining about others not having a room. It's just a useless forum now, as I said it was nice when there were 100-200 members here, but now it's useless, now that there's so many people to watch over. And quite honestly, would you rather have your little member dens for 10 specific people, or have a more open, organized forum that everyone could enjoy.
