Karma Mod!

I still think it's important for people to be able to receive bad Karma. The world, and forums within it, aren all bubbles and flowers. We just need to avoid abusing the bad karma option. We'd all just get a bunch of karma tallies that would eventually mean next to nothing. As it is, with karma able to be decreased, it means more when you do get good karma. Not to mention I haven't seen much bad karma going around. Bottom line, I think we'll be fine if people dont abuse the bad karma, and appropriate acton is taken on those who do. :3 I also think that bad karma can, and will, given its reason requirement, be used to non-offensively give members negative feedback that, in some cases, will prove useful. I know people have pointed out elements of my behavior before and as a result I changed for the better. :)

In my opinion, there shouldn't be a button to make their karma decrease. Either you increase or not at all :)
I disagree. That would defeat the purpose of the Karma mod lol.
I agree with Snowy on that matter, the option to negative karma is there for a reason and sometimes people would actually warrant having the point deducted and what not.
Like I said earlier, just as long as people are not abusing it and actually giving a reason for it, then I do not see the problem. I got a negative karma for a fair enough reason and well... I am still alive, believe it or not XD.

Right, as long as reasons are given for negative karma, that would be fine. But I'm seeing some negative karma without reasons.

I think we'll just let it play out ^^

:chuckle: ya, I see some of that going around, I'm not sure what is sense in this matter, I see sense in having a balance, but if you can't think of a reason for it, don't do it. Just not liking a person is not an excuse for rating them down. If a person does something bad, fine, but if you don't like how a person is, or how they have changed, it makes no sense at all. If you don't like it, tell them, don't just go and broadcast your dislikes.

Yeah,I agree with TRP,the purpose of the karma on a long term basis should be more objective. Sure, giving good karma for someone who's been a good friend is okay, but doing so every single day doesn't really make sense. No one is doing this, but I'm over exaggerating a bit to make my point come across. :P
Either way, this whole feature can be either very useful to help us improve ourselves as individuals or it can be not useful at all if it gets abused for trolling purposes.

I think the karma mod can serve as a way for member to be directly incentivized not to moe the others upset. Also, if someone doesn't like the Karma they're getting, they can disable it.
