While i do agree with your second point, disney does seem to be taking this somewhat seriously for a show aimed at a young crowd. Even just them having kiara in it means they were proud enough of the second movie to acknowledge it as canon.

My best guess is that they didn't have storylines completed when they announced it last year. On the international movie database there's a character listing for someone who wasn't in the original pr.

I think most of The Lion King fans want to see Kovu (or at least have him mentioned). Like several other here have said it wouldn't make sense for Kovu to not even be acknowledged. The fact that Disney has not mentioned him as a guest star (or more likely said that he will make a cameo appearance), had me worried. However I think Lauren hit it on the head, Disney must not have mentioned him because they are hoping to make his appearance a surprise. As I have said before Kovu making a guest appearance/cameo would make the most sense as I would think Disney would have less trouble getting Jason Marsden to reprise his role than any of the other cast members (aside form Jim Cummings).

Gosh dang it, I try to look for any possible new information on it, any more secrets from Disney junior, anything I can find that leads to the lion guard, but no they are so good at keeping there work hidden in those production rooms of there's, talk about top secret mode still, I'm like desperate to find any secrets, and the next update could be any day, any week any month now. The wait is really starting to get to me, I don't know how much more I can take it.

I personally prefer thhis one to the more "Toony" Bunga. It's cuter, IMO!

Ooh, it's fun to see a bit more about the series with the book covers and such. But I thought the friend was a cheetah... she looks more like a slim jaguar to me! So are they going for a leopard here instead? Markings really not cheetah-like. (Hope they give her a pupil, too.) Sorry if this has been said before, I'm just not going through zillions of posts.
