The Lion Guard (2015 / 2016)

Gah, only reason I'm slightly interested in this is because of potential new lore/new fanart. Considering it'll be a pre-schooler show I barely have any expectations for it, I'm kinda afraid it'll be full of continuity errors (Yes, worse than SP's) and 'lore breaking' designs like Kion's pawprint symbols. It'll be very curious seeing brand new fan theories though, the fandom has been a bit... stagnant lately.

I don't know if this has been posted, but here's a better image of Bunga, found on TLK Wiki:

I honestly really liked his design. :P

The show's probably going to have this animation style, which I like, and the plot's this one:
Kion, the young son of Simba and Nala, defies tradition by calling on animals other than lions to join the Lion Guard and preserve the Pride Lands.

After finally taking the time to look at these two photos, :huh8: I already see alot wrong with this so help me come to peace with it

I really hope these are just all books with a different look because they resemble what they did for finding Nemo and Frozen for book looks
I don't like how straight edged Kions ears look, thats not the TLK way.
A badgers fur is not Blue, its black, they could have done better with the badger, I don't like how he looks.
and Fuli looks more like a leopard with the rosettes, leopards have rosettes, cheetahs don't, not even king cheetahs, cheetahs have just spots, why do they always twist the looks uuuugh.
If they are trying to teach kids more about wildlife then the way they are doing it should not be all that I said, its like teaching a little kids that Badgers are blue, NO!
and in the other book with just Fuli and Kion, Fuli looks creepy with those eyes.

:dramaqueen: (wanting to bang my head against the wall hating how Disney is making me more scared for the final turn out)

Again help me come to peace with these look, because this was what we saw in the first animation glimpse when Kion is leaping out of the grass, I want them to keep that animation and not this, god please.

As you yourself pointed out those are almost definitely stylized just for the books. Why would they bother animating a style they weren't going to use?

Ehhhhhh, I just saw these photos but I do agree about the badger. He looks weird to me. I don't really like the style that that pic seems to portray and I'm a little worried for what this show is going to be.

Although that being said, though, I like how the cheetah looks so far. Just wondering what roles the books will play and what the hippo and the egret will end up looking like.

At the end of the day, it is for preschoolers, so I guess I'm not too surprised about how this is starting to look.

Agreed Concept art is usually different (and in my opinion always inferior) to the finished animation. We all know what the animation is going to look like, thanks to the Disney Television Animation 30th Anniversary Sizzle Real. the concept art came before the animation. The proof of that is in the fact that Kion has the paw print on his shoulder, not the lion head from the animation. The only thing I think that concept art gives us to worry about, is Bunga's color scheme. Which I think can be dismissed as a effort to make the character cute and appealing to kids.

 Still I hate when they make the animal color fictional and not the real thing, oh look kids, badgers are blue :annoyed: to me that's like lying to them about the color of the real thing. Whats wrong with showing them black? he doesn't look like a badger, in fact he looks like a blue cartoon porcupine :hey7:

Kids are smarter than you're giving them credit for. My six year old cousin is always telling me when things in the cartoons he likes are inaccurate. Most kids are not going to take from this that badgers in real life are blue, and for all we know, they could still change his colour scheme. The TV movie isn't coming out for nearly a year.
