God I hope not. 3D technology just flat out sucks right now. It adds nothing to the viewing experience, save for occassionally giving me a headache.

I get nothing from the 3D experience either, although the tech has advanced far beyond what is was when I was a child. It was those red and blue lenses that gave me a headache.
Ordinarily I would never go see a movie theatrically if I have the DVD at home, but for The Lion King how could I not make an exception to that rule.

I hope it is. But I am still highly skeptical of how Disney will turn a 2D movie into a well-made 3D remake. So far, any movie with well-done 3D had to shoot in 3D (be made with 3D specifically in mind). Seeing as TLK was not made right away for 3D, it already makes it that much harder to convert.

I am excited to see it, just because I have always imagined how wonderful it must have been to see The Lion King in the cinemas. I'm not fussed on the 3D though, I hope it's not too distracting from the film. 3D or not, it is still TLK so I will most definitley be going! :)

I could care less about the 3-D part, although I'm curious as to whether they're going to alter some scenes to make the 3-D work better. Of course, as bad as my eyes are, I'm not risking any more damage :P So it'll be nice just to see the movie in theatres, on the big screen, with a big audience :)

Not sure if I bought up this point with you before, but neither were Toy Story 1 and 2, or older PS3 games that were converted into 3D, but they still looked great.

I am Brazilian, and here in Brazil it debuted Aug. 26. Believe me, it's great, I loved it at first. I just wanted to share it.
