New Banning Policy

It doesn't take a person 6 months to reflect upon what they've done and apologize...

imo that should be like a month or something. 6 months is a long time...

And not to be rude, but this system is a bit unnecissary. Anyone who is banned still has to be approved by all the staff before getting let back. Literally no one we've let back, besides one person has really even trolled since being let back, so I don't see why this is so important.

Joking aside, I have to agree that these rules seem a bit harsh. The old rules worked well enough in my opinion.

The last real troll attack we had was, I believe, several months ago, and it was taken care off quickly and painlessly (minus the troll). So yes, I really don't see the need for the new rules.
But seeing as I am not a mod, there may be a few issues that needed to be dealt with that we are simply not aware of and are a constant problem that warrent thse new changes.

you say its harsh but we are giving a total of 3 chances ( warn, apology and warn) if you cant learn your lesson then... well you gotta go. we dont WANT to do it but end of they day cant keep trolls around people do get upset and hurt, ive had to deal with some right nasty cases before

The way I see it, its more like two chances. If I was banned for six months (half a year? Really?) I probably would not bother coming back. Considering just how many rules there are, a single warning prior to a six month suspension is a bit unfair. But hey, if it makes your life easier I suppose that is okay?

Really? That still happens? Wow, that was one of the reasons why I dropped my staff position.

Agreed, although I let you back without the staff consent (they said no to be fair) but I knew for a fact you had changed, and now you are on the staff team, and doing a good job of it. And that is why I am not at all happy with now having one single warning and the a 6 month ban. This stuff just drives people away from the site.

Nah, he couldn't even keep the co-admin place. Personally I would not have someone on my staff team who makes decisions on behalf of fellow staff members, I would say a demotion would be more suitable, if anything.

Well what if there was no warnings at all? Break a rule and get perma banned, and then you accidentally get a bit carried away once and get banned. Granted that is not the case here, but if people are willing to just play by the rules, it might as well be.

I can understand why your all claiming its harsh and unfair but look at it from my point of view

The old system meant you had to get 3 warns before a ban, then after a month you write an apology to come back with no warns if you did get banned. All that is doing is allowing any troll who shows up 3 chances to troll their way to a ban, lie in an apology come back and do it all again constantly.

the way the old system work meant that people like taka (not the take currently online), commando and a large bunch of others could just be allowed back on the forum. This new system is incase anything does go wrong, not that anything is wrong right now. If trolls do come on the site we want to deal with them quickly and effectively, not give them multiple chances to destroy the forum, especially with its ever growing size.
