New episode 'Lions of the outlands'?

It definitely becomes a lot more fun when you don't see it as canon. But there's people who will try to shape anything into something barely resembling "canon" and get kinda mad when there's not a lot given to them to shape... i.e, TLG's entire timeline so far. If you separate it from the movies, which I admittedly do, it becomes a lot more innocent and comes across the way it intended to. I just see this as a child's version of TLK, which it basically is It's not really canon to me. Just harmless fun. But you're always going to get those people who want it to be Simba's Pride or the original movie. You might not see them on this forum, but I've seen them on places like Instagram and YouTube. They're out there. I just don't want them to have a bad experience with this movie and we get that crap with people raging out over TLG.

I didn't mean Zira's plan, I meant the scene when we first meet her when she's looking at them through the grass. She would've probably murdered Kiara if Simba hadn't shown up at that exact moment. Seems like a very Zira-ish thing to do

Thanks for the correction, SimbasGuard. I think Jason will sound fine, too. He basically sounds like a permanent teenager, and there's been plenty of shows that have done that before, using teens voices for younger kids. Plus, I would say out of all the voices in the 'main' cast, he is probably the most professional in his role as a VA. Guy's got tooons of experience.

I doubt The Outlanders will be a one time appearance (Even if we don't see them again until season 2), but even if they were. It would still be The Lion Guard's First Showdown with lions because they have never fought lions before.

So far the episode looks at if it will surpass my hopes.

Now not to attack your opinion on if The Lion Guard is canon, but I have the exact opposite view. I hope that this episode does it's best to establish that The Lion Guard is canon. However even though that is what I hope for, I recognize the fact that Kion's (and the shows) existence is in fact a retcon. It is entirely possible that this episode could dash my hopes. If that were to happen I would be disappointed But I would not stop loving this show. As it is the scene where Rafiki is explaining who The Outsiders are may ruin the theory that Kiara and Kion are littermates, but I will wait and see how it turns out. All I see in this episode for now are the good possibilities.

Alright not the biggest fan of the show however I am a big fan of Zira one of my favorite characters in the franchise. I'm going to assume this episode is a prologue to season 2 which will likely be more serialized not completely but it will likely have a full ongoing story across the season with some fillers in between of course. Zira is likely going to be the main villain of the second season and probably the true villain of the show. I could easily see Janga and the hyena pack being servants to the outsiders likely unhappily. Zira is the kind of a character who could've been pulling many strings behind the scenes I wouldn't be surprised if she had some kind of pull or authority over the entire outlands.

As for toning her down that might not be entirely necessary SP was still a G movie and Janga had every intention of forcibly kidnapping Kiara, or killing numerous gazelles. Makku has tried to kill people on countless occasion. The villains are pretty openly murderous they just don't succeed. Zira can likely maintain her psychotic personality and brutal planning her dialogue won't be as vicious but you can keep her mostly the same if you're good enough at finding loopholes. Her abuse of Nuka will likely be toned down as will her abusive nature to her children in general. I believe the shows best bet is to focus on her cunning and manipulative nature have her be two or even three steps ahead of them, have her be the first villain Kion can't just beat with the roar since Scar also had it so Zira knows something others don't how to neutralize it.

This would be a big stretch but if Zira is going to go on to become a central villain it would probably be for the best, the guard should lose this episode, they lose the fight the only reason they survive is either someone saves them or Zira wasn't planning to kill them at the time just testing their abilities and deducing the threat they pose to her. The episode ends with the guard failing rather through Zira decimating them personally or far more likely Zira causing them to fail their mission. Either way for the first time the guard failed no second wind they lose they are not invincible, this could play into the finale as Kion and the guard have to defend the kingdom from Janga and Makku who team up now that the guard's mythical image is broken. This would allow you to have Zira in only one episode but also have her truly impact the show and raise the stakes for season 2 when The guard has to once again face the enemy they couldn't beat.

One of them is supposed to be simba leading the guard while Nala takes kiara and kion on a journey? It sounds like goofy fun, if unplausible.

I know there are four more episodes after this but I like the idea of the guards almost invincible image being broken. Another cool thing would be Zira forcing Kion into a situation where he has to betray Jasiri for the good of the kingdom that would be another good way to give Zira a win over them. I just feel Zira should be the first one who definitively beats Kion rather physically or my personal preference mentally.

I just think she's the best new character of the show and think she needs to be in it more.

Ok can we now talk about some other big concerns here please, first
Zira doesnt have her stripe, well I think its an eye sore, one important trait that gives her her sharpness, if you know what I mean, but if any of you love using photos to role play you could just edit it in but seriously look at the differences, notice how her eyes are not as sharp as the sp version they are really smothing things out with these characters.



and the big problem here is the way there Outlands look, compared to the SP version. how are we going to make this difference work, I was thinking maybe they moved around a bit and didn't stay in ones spot of the outlands?

I'm so excited to see this clip and I can't wait for this episode. that's really all I have to say.....I'm not really even thinking about what it will be like or what problems it might have, I'm just too amazed that it's even happening to care right now. haha. I never in a million years thought the SP characters would actually be used again for anything.
