RUMOR: Kovu is dead by the time 'the lion guard' happens?

Zira is supposed to be dead, originally they had her commit suicide. I highly doubt she'll be alive. However, we may hear about her or see her in flashbacks.

Sometimes I wonder if Kovu's disappearance is a way of Disney stirring up a little bit of extra 'hype' for the series (getting the older fans to keep checking back). Or maybe he actually plays a major role in the movie somehow? They're both unlikely (the latter especially, since TLG is the focus), but eh.

I have no Idea what Disney's game plan is, but Kovu is too important a character to be forgotten about.

Perhaps Kovu is out on a diplomatic mission of some kind. Maybe he will be the one to bring Zuri (if she is a lioness Kion's age) to The Pride Lands.

Disney probably felt like not including Kovu in the Lion Guard, as with the hyenas in TLK2. That doesn't necessarily mean he's dead

I think the lion guard will have a lot of references to the first movie. It could be, that there will be one ore more episodes in which, for example, simba tells kion about the past and we see a cub scar maybe, or a living mufasa (that would be cooooool!!) a bit like what they did in six new adventures, where simba or nala tells kopa about the past and you see what they tell. it is very possible that they will do that in the lion guard, for example when Simba tells Kion what a lion guard is, or about the former lion guard of scar... just getting my hopes up here!

I don't believe Kovu is dead either, but if for some reason he is left out of The Lion Guard. I hope that like with The Hyenas in Lion King 2, an in story explanation will be provided.

what if this takes place before we even met Kovu? I mean it mightn't even line in with the movies at all (the second) and Kiara could still be a cub and hadn't even seen Kovu.

Disney has confirmed that Kiara is Kion's older sister and heir for the throne. They also have an adult doing her voice, while the cub characters have child actors. Kiara is an adult in this series.

Kovu is not dead and this whole article is stupid and creates a big fuss out of nowhere. i'm suprised people are going by that flow and panicking.

Facts: "Kovu's voice actor won't be in TLG. Asked why, he said "circle of life" (apparently meant to mean "deal with it")"

As most of voice actors are different, I won't be suprised if Kovu gets to be voiced by someone else. Maybe Kovu just wasn't confirmed yet because he's not that important to the show. After all it's going to be about Kion adn his friends, not Kovu and Kiara.
