The lion guard premiers november 22nd! Plus a new teaser!

I have some mixed emotions right now. I am thrilled to know the release date ,but I am more than a little annoyed that I now have to be slightly concerned over the fact that Lion King 2 might be retconed away. This could be a non-issue if an In-story explanation is provided. (PLEASE DO NOT LET LION KING 2 HAVE BEEN KIARA (OR ANYONE ELSE) HAVING A DREAM ). While I am less than pleased about the premise of the show now. I am still very eager to see the show and where they go with it.

I agree though I'm prepared to just accept this fact which is really difficult for me since I'm one of the few who actually liked the second one the best.

Also what Elton John said about this being the same as LKII was for the first movie no offense but no they're not not even close. The retcons in LKII and this are not the same LKII did not remove the first movie from continuity it just added a new detail that wasn't there it wasn't shown but if you try you can connect it all.

LG on the other hand is flat out retconning the entire movie, that's a big difference one you can still watch the movies and view them as a story the other requires you to choose which one you want to be a part of the story while the creators and the public pretty much disregard it big difference going on there in one it just introduces characters who weren't there the other disregards and removes multiple characters from canon huge difference they are not even comparable.

LKII is one of the highest selling direct to video ever it was a massive success and has four stars on Amazon while the first movie has four and half not a real huge gap going on there, simply put it does have fans a lot of them I've encountered quite a few here and on other sites there was no reason to retcon it the show could've easily taken place after it.

So I don't really understand the purpose behind this it just seems like an unnecessary choice oh well I'll judge the show for what is if the writing is good and the character development multi layered the story engaging than what do I care if it retcons something I believe in the idea of alternate worlds. If it's not all that great then I'll ignore it but either way I'll judge it on it's own merits with an unbiased eye even though I am very angry at the idea of SP being erased from canon since it's one of my favorite disneys I won't hold that against the show however if this is the new LKII I will hold it to the story and character of that movie.

Simbasguard I agree with you on that I can understand ignoring it if there was just a story you wanted to tell that you couldn't without ignoring the other I can understand that. Some of my stories change and disregard some elements from the other two sequels because well I had a story I wanted to tell no writer should be limited from telling the story they want to tell.

So while I can understand that I will not be pleased if they take unnecessary jabs at SP saying it was a dream would infuriate me not enough to just stop watching but I wouldn't be pleased about it not at all.

I read on facebook that a longer 2nd teaser trailer will be published within 8 days. The person posting this had read that on sites. There was no link to those sites in his/her message though.

I would take those with a grain of a salt then however the premiere is about six weeks away so a longer trailer isn't unlikely so thanks for the heads up even if it turns out to be false thanks for posting for us anyway.

I don't think I'd be surprised if they chose to retcon. However, I also wouldn't be surprised if we're to weave it into the sequel, either. We haven't seen TLG yet and, considering we only see cub Kiara in two different days in TLKII (her ceremony and meeting Kovu), they could probably get away with making an excuse as to why he wasn't there. And as an adult, he could have found his own pride by that time. It would leave plotholes, sure, but... TLKII wasn't free from those anyway.

Wow! So far, TLG has showed something great. Tiifu is cute, but I know nothing about this character(is she Kiara's friend?). And the quality of the animation is good, all characters look a little "flexible". But the music of the teaser......is a little bit like Jurassic Park. XD

I noticed that it was like jurassic park too XD


And no, TLG hasn't fully retconned SP.... Yet anyway. TLG could take place in between when Kiara meets Kovu and when Kiara is an adult.
