RUMOR: Kovu is dead by the time 'the lion guard' happens?

Kovu has little to nothing to do with All Hallows Eve, so Jason Marsden seems to be voicing Thackery Binx (as a cat) for the Hocus Pocus stage show at Walt Disney World announced back in March. Knowing how the animation production cycle goes, voice recording the actors happens relatively early before the final animation starts. So, Marsden voicing Kovu this late was unlikely, but I'll admit I was optimistic that he was going to reprise the role.

Deep down I had a feeling that it wasn't Kovu. A shame though.

I had a little chat with an animator on the show. Asked about kovu and he said he couldn't divulge any info as disney is brutal against leaks according to him.

So this tells me that mr marsden knows nothing. If he did, after he said what he did he'd be in ginormous trouble. I'd face the hounds of hell than the wrath of a disney lawyer.

I will be really sad if kovu is dead at least he will be with the great kings lions but I will still be really sad I am sad at the way disney seems to treat TLK 2 and especially Kovu it is like they are embarassed by him, it seems to me they treat him as the riff raff they designed him as . He is quite arguably the most important character of the film if not one of the main characters of the film and yet he seems to be treated with derision and contemmpt * cries for my hero* Raaar

if not, then Kovu will OR be in TLG or he will just be ignored..

Disney has not confirmed his death. MTV assumed it out of nowhere based on a tweet and then everyone decided it has to be true.

I am expecting Kovu to be in The Lion Guard, it makes more sense than, as Julie Skywalker Pointed out THE UNCONFIRMED RUMOR that this thread is about. I will be shocked If Kovu is not at the very least mentioned in The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar.

I doubt they'll continue from Simba's Pride. I'm sure they'll treat this like yet another future storyline from the original TLK, creating even more confusion, plot holes, and inaccuracies in the fandom. Sigh.

They confirmed that Kiara would be in TLG, or at least, they mentioned that Kion is "another" cub, and not yet again the Fluffy seen at the end of the first movie. That being said, I somehow thing that TLG won't really care about making sure not to break continuity of the movies. After all, if they have the Roar of the Elders, I don't think making the plots match the previous material is of high concern.
