What we currently know about the lion guard.

I will hope that if The Lion Guard will be used to educate kids, which let's face it, it will most certainly will, that Disney will be able to do so without having to resort to dropping anvils on their head. The original movie was able to teach a few lessons without doing so, so I hope that some of that writing will make it into the show.

This is kind of really random, but something that would have been cool for them to do about the show is instead of creating a whole new character, have Kopa as the main lion. I just think that would have been awesome, continuing a story that disney just kind of trashed.

Kopa wasn't created by Disney. He wasn't in the lion king 1 or 2. It's like sally acorn in the sonic franchise or or fara phoenix is to star fox... The people who own these franchises aren't going to acknowledge these characters in official works.

I don't know if it is already known here, but on the tlg wiki there is a new cover released for kions animal alphabet, the book. really neat drawn, the hippo has a little tuft of hair now. on the back of the book you also see him, and Kion with a light rim around his eyes which is funny, cuz on the front he has the normal colouring around his eyes. I haven't found out yet how to paste the pic into this thread, but there is a link to it on tlkfaa, and on the lion guard wiki.

Ah. I wasn't aware it wasn't considered official. To add a whole new character, you'd think it'd be official. That's why I thought it was

I think Kopa isn't there, is because:
1. there is a new generation of animators/artists working on this series/film.
2. the knowledge they have access to, is merely based on the movies TLK, SP and 1,5.
3. the Six New Adventures books were made with permission of Disney, not by Disney. So the creators of The Lion Guard can never know about him, since he is not in any Disney owned database or guide.

Well the series is going to premier in 2016 so if this date is correct that would be a Sunday. I assumed that The Lion Guard would be a weekday series.
