Maybe the termite mounds are further away from Pridelands. During the timeskip Oulanders moved to another place that's noticeably closer to Pridelands and when they were kicked back to termite mounds Zira decided they will not return. That's just my theory.
That is more believable than my theory that Kion sent The Outsiders to yet another part of The Out Lands that looked strikingly similar to The Out Lands that we saw in the first part of Lion King 2. Although that does not explain Zira's "Our New Home" line if it is
exactly the same place they had lived before.
although the relationship between Scar and Zira wasn`t fully explained, at least now we know that there was a friendship between them, and that Zira isn`t just a crazy fangirl.
I enjoyed that aspect as well and even though it requires reading in to what Zira actually said. I think her comment "Scar and I were close. Very close." Hints very heavily (To Me anyway) that Nuka is Indeed Scar's son. I think it is very possible that Scar and Zira had a
relationship during Mufasa's reign and that Scar did not bring Zira to The Pride Lands until he became King.
Zira`s song was awesome, the best in a long time, and easily one of my favourites from the series. I really liked the reference to My Lullaby (with the bugs) and hearing Kion join in was fun - even if his parts were hard to make out when they both sang at once. I for one had trouble picking up Kion`s lyrics.
Same here, I couldn't get Kion's lyrics either:
http://lionguard.wikia.com/wiki/Lions_Over_All
As several others have already pointed out - the fight scenes bother me sometimes.. but in this episode especially. Does being the leader of The Lion Guard give you super strength? Kion is a CUB, it should be physically impossible for him to pin down a grown lion or beat a lioness in a fight. Sure, he could outmanouver or outsmart them, but actually win? Nah.
I get how that irritates people, but I look at it with this
FAN THEORY: We know that The Mark of The Lion Guard has
some kind of magic in it. I think that the Mark Of The Guard enhances the natural abilities of The Lion Guard to a level that at least enables them to hold their own against whatever they are up against. It is not something that the members of The Lion Guard can willfully tap into, it is more of power boost from The Great Kings when it is needed to even the odds.
END OF FAN THEORY: In a more practical sense upon seeing the episode a 2nt time I have noticed that Kion makes precise strikes that catch his opponents when they are off balance.
As for Zira not being a formidable enough villain I see it like this:
Zira assumed that Kion was a naive cub that she could easily manipulate. Not the case, although she did trick Kion into thinking that he could not use The Roar against Lions.
Zira also underestimated The Lion Guard for the same reasons Simba did in Return of the Roar.
Zira actually believed that Kion could not use The Roar against them. My guess is that Scar told her what
he believed was the reason he lost The Roar.
Also Zira did not plan on encountering Kion (She did not even know about him.). Her plan was not meticulously planned out as was her plan to take over The Pride Lands in Lion King 2. She had to make it up on the fly. When you take that into consideration her plan to manipulate Kion was rather impressive.
The only things that disappointed me about the episode was that it dealt a sever (if not totally crushing) blow to the possibility of a Kion/Vitani romance in the future.
The ending also causes me to think that The Writers
may not want to use The Outsiders in this series again. I hope I am wrong about that.
