How? To be honest I never liked the character.

So...sent Back to his home planet?

But as a real answer, i'd rather he look as close as he can to his tlk2 style.

I play Nuka at a Lion King RPG, where I made sure on his app to mention that "While it is true that his inner motive often fogs his common sense, Nuka are in fact rather cleverer than most gives him credit for, though his shrewdness of mind and resourcefulness comes to light primarily whenever he wander off from his pride, distanced from his mother and life-long carving for recognition and rely on his own know-how while interaction with other animals".

Just so he wouldn't be JUST a goofball.

He feels too much like a loony toons character to me. The TLK universe plays by different rules than the Loony Toons universe. Why I just don't like the character much.

Probably why I like timon and pumbaa more when they aren't being laughy jokey.

Yeah, the Timon and Pumba tv show made me cringe even as a kid...

Speaking of which - Imagine Timon and Pumba learning Kion and Bunga are in the Outlands, under threat from Zira, and rushes into the Outlands to save Bunga and make everything worse. :p

May I please ask how you tolerated the hyena trio Banzai is nothing but comic relief having full on goofy moments like falling into a cactus and flying out holding his butt. Now this doesn't mean Banzai is a cartoon character as he isn't but I have no idea how that was what you saw in Nuka.

Nuka's over the top antics showcased his mental instability. I have no idea how scratching and chomping on himself to deal with termites a or being jittering and stuttering equals loony tunes character. Everything Nuka does is a reflection of his mental state and upbringing. His stuttering and twitching nature was a result of his mother's abuse his rather obnoxious behavior a direct result of being neglected he does whatever he can to be recognized. His reaction while burning the pride lands is the sign of insane pyro mania. There is nothing here that equals your description if you can give an example please do.

It makes no sense how is Nuka more cartoony than the trio where is your example where is this loony tune stuff you are talking about and why doesn't it apply to the trio?

I never liked that moment with banzai. It felt a bit too over the top in a franchise where for the most part the physics of the world felt grounded.

I just cant wait to be king gets a free pass as it is more of an acid trip moment. Most of what went on during the musical number I dont believe actually happened.

I need to rewatch sp. It's less of a 'making jokes' thing and more of a consistant physics thing. I don't remember nuka fitting in much with the consistancy but it has been a while since I have seen tlk2.

Well I'll admit that's a different view of humor than is usually given though to be fair those kind of physics are a staple of Disney movies in general and are likely specifically there to appeal to the children or give them a sense of relief from the more heavy stuff. It's pretty telling that Banzai's cactus moment happens immediately after Mufasa's death and Simba's reaction, it's clearly there to give the younger audience something to relieve the sadness. The intriguing thing about LK beyond most disney's is they tried to do a rather intense and serious character drama yet still make it a full on family movie that kids could still have fun with which is why moments like the ones I described are even there in the first place.

It's also telling that the opinion on Timon and Pumba is so divisive yet they're breakout characters the young kids love them but as fans grow older they like them and the other comic relief characters less. LK is a weird family movie as it's much darker than almost any other Disney movie and at times has a tone not all that different from a normal character drama with equally heavy themes yet it still has disney's trademark and as times slapstick humor a weird combination I must admit so I agree with you there.

Do you by any chance know what time lions of the outlands airs how long before it's likely online?

Disney put the episode up early on their website, and unlike usual, they don't require a subscription. Anybody can watch it for free.

This was the big one... but it didn't really feel like it. Guess, after a decade, it was never going to live up to expectations. Kovu's voice doesn't really fit his young self, and Zira never felt as threatening as I thought she should be. It was nice seeing Nuka and Vitani again, but Vitani barely got to say anything. Not really sure what else to say. That's preschool animation for you. But I still think, in the end, it's better for Disney to do something with these characters rather than let them languish in obscurity. It's not perfect, but it's a heck of a lot better than nothing.

I checked it's actually there and it doesn't seem Disney is going to take it down so anyone who wants to watch it early can. Thanks for the link I appreciate it.
